Setup

1. Unpack: Remove the SteriPen Adventurer Opti and its accessories from the packaging.
2. Battery Installation:

   The device uses two CR123 batteries. Ensure they are inserted correctly according to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment. The device comes with two disposable CR123 batteries.

Operating Instructions

1. Prepare Water: Fill a wide-mouth bottle or container with clear water. If the water is turbid or cloudy, pre-filter it using a cloth or other method to remove particulates.
2. Activate SteriPen:
   • Press the activation button once for 1 liter of water.
   • Press the activation button twice for 0.5 liters of water.

   The LED status indicator will flash green, indicating it's ready for treatment.

3. Purify Water:

   Submerge the UV lamp into the water. Stir the water gently with the SteriPen for the duration of the treatment (90 seconds for 1 liter). Ensure the UV lamp remains fully submerged during this process.

4. Completion: A solid green light on the LED indicator signifies that the water purification is complete and the water is safe to drink.
5. Flashlight Function: The optical sensor can also be used as an LED flashlight. Refer to the device for specific activation of the flashlight mode.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: After each use, gently wipe the UV lamp with a clean, soft cloth to remove any water residue. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
• Storage: Store the SteriPen in its protective storage bag in a dry, cool place when not in use.
• Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears. Always carry spare batteries for extended trips.
• Lamp Life: The UV lamp is designed for up to 8,000 treatments. Monitor the number of uses and consider replacement when nearing the limit or if performance degrades.

Troubleshooting

• Device Not Activating:
  • Check battery levels and ensure they are correctly installed.
  • Ensure the UV lamp is clean and free of debris.
• Incomplete Purification:
  • Verify that the water is clear. Pre-filter if necessary.
  • Ensure the SteriPen is stirred continuously for the full treatment duration.
  • Confirm the UV lamp is fully submerged during treatment.
• Low Battery Indication: Replace the CR123 batteries with fresh ones.
