2.2 Assembly

2. Attach Solder Wire Dispenser: If desired, attach the solder wire dispenser to the side of the main unit. Feed the solder wire through the dispenser.
3. Connect Soldering Iron: Plug the soldering iron's connector securely into the designated port on the front of the main unit.
4. Prepare Tip Cleaner: Ensure the brass wool is placed in its compartment and the sponge is moistened with water.
5. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the main unit and then to a 110-127V power outlet. CAUTION: Do not connect to a 220V power socket.

3.1 Power On and Temperature Setting

1. Power On: Flip the power switch on the front of the main unit to the 'ON' position. The digital display will illuminate.
2. Adjust Temperature: Use the control knob to set the desired temperature. The digital display shows the real-time temperature. The temperature range is 392°F to 896°F (200°C to 480°C).
3. C-F Conversion: Use the °C/°F toggle switch to change the temperature display unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

4.1 Tip Cleaning

Regularly clean your soldering iron tip to remove oxidation and old solder. Use the provided brass wool and moistened sponge.

• Brass Wool: Gently rub the hot soldering tip against the brass wool to remove excess solder and oxidation.
• Moistened Sponge: Wipe the hot tip on the moistened sponge to clean it. Ensure the sponge is damp, not soaking wet, to avoid thermal shock to the tip.

4.2 Tip Pre-Tinning

Always pre-tin your soldering iron tip before and after each use, especially when heating up or cooling down. This prevents oxidation and ensures good heat transfer.

• Before Use: As the iron heats up, apply a small amount of solder to the tip until it's fully coated.
• After Use: Before turning off the station or placing the iron in sleep mode, apply a fresh coat of solder to the tip. This protective layer prevents oxidation during storage.
