Step 4: Install Hydraulic Air Lift Hinges

  • Attach the hydraulic air lift hinges to the designated points on the inside of the lid and the back panel of the box using the provided screws and a Phillips head screwdriver.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Devoko 85 Gallon Deck Box, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the resin surface.
  • Water Drainage: While waterproof, ensure the box is placed on a level surface to prevent water accumulation around the base, which could lead to moisture issues over time.
  • UV Protection: The resin material is UV-resistant, but prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can still affect its color over many years. Consider placing it in a shaded area or using a protective cover during extreme weather conditions if desired.
  • Hinge Care: Periodically check the hydraulic gas rods and hinges for smooth operation. Apply a silicone-based lubricant if any stiffness is observed.

Troubleshooting

  • Lid Not Closing Properly: Ensure the box is on a level surface. Check for any obstructions inside or along the edges of the lid that might prevent it from closing completely. Verify that the hydraulic gas rods are correctly installed and not damaged.
  • Water Inside the Box: Confirm that the lid is fully closed and sealed. Check for any cracks or damage to the resin panels. Ensure the box is not sitting in standing water. While waterproof, extreme conditions or improper assembly can sometimes lead to minor leaks.
  • Difficulty Moving the Box: If the box is full, empty some contents to reduce weight. Utilize the built-in side handles for easier lifting and repositioning.
