1. Introduction

Designed with robust steel construction and multiple access methods, this safe offers secure storage for your pistols, important documents, jewelry, and other valuables in your home, office, or hotel environment.

2. Safety Information

  • Emergency Keys: Always store the emergency backup keys in a secure location outside of the safe. Storing them inside the safe will prevent access if electronic methods fail or batteries deplete.
  • Mounting: For enhanced security and to prevent unauthorized removal, it is highly recommended to anchor the safe to a floor or wall using the provided hardware.
  • Alarm System: The safe is equipped with an alarm that activates after 5 consecutive incorrect fingerprint or PIN code entries. This alarm will sound for 30 seconds.
  • Battery Power: Ensure batteries are replaced promptly when the low battery indicator appears to avoid loss of electronic access.

4. Setup

4.1. Installing Batteries

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the safe door, typically near the top.
  2. Insert 4 AA batteries into the battery holder, ensuring correct polarity. (Batteries are not included).
  3. Place the battery holder securely into the compartment.

4.2. Registering Fingerprints

The safe can store up to 100 individual fingerprints.

  1. With the safe door open, locate the blue reset button inside the door panel (refer to Figure 1).
  2. Press the blue reset button. The indicator screen on the keypad will illuminate.
  3. Place your finger firmly on the fingerprint reader. The light around the reader will turn green when registered.
  4. Repeat step 3 several times, repositioning your finger slightly each time, to ensure a comprehensive scan for reliable access.
  5. Once satisfied, press the 'Lock' button on the keypad to save the fingerprint.

4.3. Setting a PIN Code

You can set a PIN code between 3 and 8 digits.

  1. With the safe door open, press the blue reset button inside the door panel. The indicator screen will illuminate.
  2. Enter your desired PIN code (3-8 digits) on the keypad.
  3. Press the 'Lock' button to confirm and save your PIN code.

4.4. Mounting the Safe

The BBRKIN 65SE safe includes pre-drilled holes and hardware for secure floor or wall mounting. This significantly enhances the safe's security by preventing its removal by unauthorized individuals.

  • Choose a suitable location for mounting, considering both security and accessibility.
  • Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes on the back or bottom of the safe onto the wall or floor.
  • Drill pilot holes according to the size of the provided mounting bolts.
  • Align the safe with the drilled holes and secure it using the mounting hardware.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Opening with Fingerprint

  1. Place a registered finger firmly on the fingerprint reader.
  2. The indicator light will turn green, and the screen will display "OPEN".
  3. Turn the handle clockwise to open the safe door.

5.2. Opening with PIN Code

  1. Enter your registered PIN code on the keypad.
  2. Press the 'Lock' button to confirm. The screen will display "OPEN".
  3. Turn the handle clockwise to open the safe door.

5.3. Opening with Emergency Key

This method is for emergency access if electronic methods fail or batteries are dead.

  1. Gently remove the cover plate located above the keypad to reveal the emergency keyhole.
  2. Insert one of the backup keys into the keyhole and turn it.
  3. Turn the handle clockwise to open the safe door.
  4. Remember to store emergency keys outside the safe.

5.4. Closing and Locking

  1. Close the safe door firmly.
  2. Turn the handle counter-clockwise to engage the deadbolts and secure the safe. The safe will automatically lock.

6. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace the 4 AA batteries when the battery level display indicates low power. This ensures continuous electronic access.
  • Cleaning: The safe features a durable powder coating finish that prevents corrosion. The interior is lined with eco-friendly faux leather. Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Mechanism Check: Periodically check the locking mechanisms and handle for smooth operation.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Alarm Activation

If 5 consecutive incorrect PIN codes or fingerprint entries are made, the alarm will sound for 30 seconds. To silence the alarm, enter a correct PIN or use a registered fingerprint. The safe also features a silent mode option for discreet operation.

7.2. Forgotten PIN Code or Unregistered Fingerprint

If you forget your PIN code or a fingerprint is not recognized, use one of the emergency backup keys to open the safe. Once open, you can reset the PIN code or register new fingerprints using the blue reset button inside the door.

7.3. Loose Handle

While the handle may feel slightly loose, the security of the safe is primarily maintained by the robust 30mm solid steel deadbolts. If the handle were to be forcibly removed, the deadbolts would remain engaged, preventing unauthorized access.
