Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Timex Expedition North Field Solar 41mm Watch. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your timepiece.
1. Setup
1.1 Initial Charging
Your Timex Expedition North Field Solar watch is powered by light. Upon receiving your watch, it may not be running or may have a low charge. To activate and fully charge the watch, expose the dial to a bright light source (natural sunlight is ideal) for several hours. The watch will begin running once sufficient charge is accumulated. A full charge can last up to 4 months in darkness.
1.2 Setting the Time and Date
- Unscrew the Crown: Locate the crown on the right side of the watch case. Gently unscrew it counter-clockwise until it is free from the case.
- Pull the Crown: Pull the crown out to the first click position to set the date, or to the second click position to set the time.
- Set the Date: In the first click position, turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date.
- Set the Time: In the second click position, turn the crown to move the hands. Advance the hands past 12 o'clock to determine if it is AM or PM for correct date change.
- Push and Screw Down the Crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into the case and screw it clockwise until it is securely tightened. This ensures water resistance.

2. Operating the Watch
2.1 Timekeeping
The watch operates continuously once sufficiently charged. The hour, minute, and second hands display the current time. The date window displays the current day of the month.
2.2 Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (330 feet). This rating makes it suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. It is not recommended for scuba diving. Ensure the crown is fully screwed down before any water exposure to maintain water resistance.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning Your Watch
To clean your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, damp cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. If the strap gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally.
3.2 Solar Cell Care and Storage
To maintain the solar cell's efficiency, regularly expose the watch to light. Avoid storing the watch in dark places for extended periods to prevent the power reserve from depleting. If the watch stops due to lack of light, expose it to bright light to restart.

4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Watch Not Running
- Insufficient Charge: Expose the watch dial to a strong light source for several hours. The second hand may move in two-second intervals when the charge is low, indicating it needs more light.
- Crown Not Screwed Down: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in and screwed down.
4.2 Incorrect Time or Date
- Resetting: Follow the instructions in Section 1.2 to reset the time and date.
