The nania TRIO car seat is installed using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt. Always refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for specific car seat installation guidelines.

3.1. Rearward-Facing Installation (Group 0: 0-10 kg)

  3. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated blue guides on the car seat.
  4. Buckle the vehicle seat belt securely.
  5. Press down firmly on the car seat while pulling the vehicle seat belt tight to remove any slack.
  6. Verify that the car seat is securely installed and does not move more than 2.5 cm (1 inch) in any direction at the belt path.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Securing the Child (0-18 kg)

  1. Place the child in the car seat.
  2. Bring the two buckle tongues together and insert them into the buckle until you hear a click.
  3. Pull the harness adjustment strap to tighten the harness. Ensure the harness straps are snug against the child's body, with no slack. You should not be able to pinch any excess webbing at the child's shoulder.
  4. The shoulder straps should be at or just below the child's shoulders for rearward-facing, and at or just above the child's shoulders for forward-facing.

4.2. Adjusting the Harness Height

The 5-point harness features double shoulder adjustment. To adjust the height:

  1. Locate the harness adjustment mechanism at the back of the car seat.
  2. Thread the shoulder straps through the appropriate slots to ensure they are at the correct height for your child (at or just below shoulders for rearward-facing, at or just above for forward-facing).
  3. Ensure both shoulder straps are at the same height.

4.3. Using Newborn Reducers

The car seat includes reducer cushions designed for newborns and smaller infants. These cushions provide additional support and comfort. Use them for infants in Group 0 (0-10 kg) and remove them as the child grows and no longer requires the extra support.

4.4. Securing the Child with Vehicle Belt (15-25 kg)

Once your child reaches 15 kg and is mature enough, the 5-point harness can be removed, and the child can be secured directly with the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.

  1. Remove the 5-point harness from the car seat (refer to the car seat's specific instructions for harness removal).
  2. Place the child in the car seat.
  3. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt over the child and through the designated red belt guides on the car seat.
  4. Ensure the lap belt portion is low on the child's hips, touching the thighs, and the shoulder belt crosses the center of the child's shoulder and chest.
  5. Buckle the vehicle seat belt securely and remove any slack.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and hygiene of your nania TRIO Car Seat.

  • Cleaning the Cover: The seat cover is removable and can be hand-washed. Use mild soap and cold water. Do not machine wash, bleach, iron, or tumble dry, as this may damage the fabric and compromise safety features. Allow to air dry completely before reattaching.
  • Cleaning the Harness: Wipe the harness straps with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse the harness in water or use harsh chemicals, as this can weaken the webbing.
  • Cleaning Plastic Parts: Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the car seat for any signs of wear, damage, or loose parts. If any damage is found, discontinue use and contact the manufacturer.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your nania TRIO Car Seat, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • Car Seat Feels Loose After Installation:
    • Ensure the vehicle's 3-point seat belt is routed correctly through all designated guides (blue for rearward-facing, red for forward-facing).
    • Press down firmly on the car seat while tightening the vehicle seat belt to remove all slack.
    • Verify that the seat belt buckle is fully engaged.
  • Harness Straps Are Difficult to Adjust or Tighten:
    • Check for any twists in the harness straps.
    • Ensure the harness adjustment strap is not obstructed.
    • Make sure the child is seated properly in the seat before attempting to tighten.
  • Child Appears Uncomfortable:
    • For infants, ensure the newborn reducer cushions are correctly positioned.
    • Check that the harness straps are at the correct height for the child's shoulders.
    • Ensure the child's clothing is not too bulky, which can interfere with harness fit.

If the issue persists, contact nania customer support for further assistance.
