3. Product Overview

The Sharp XL-B512 is a versatile micro component system featuring Bluetooth wireless audio streaming, a CD player, USB playback, and an FM stereo digital tuner. It is designed to deliver clear audio with a compact footprint.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Speaker Connection

  1. Place the speakers on a stable surface, ensuring they are positioned symmetrically relative to the main unit for optimal stereo sound.
  2. Connect the speaker wires from each speaker to the corresponding speaker terminals on the rear of the main unit. Ensure correct polarity (red to red, black to black).

4.2 FM Antenna Connection

  1. Connect the supplied FM antenna to the FM antenna jack on the rear of the main unit.
  2. Extend the antenna fully and position it for best reception.

4.3 Power Connection

  1. Ensure all connections are secure before plugging in the power cord.
  2. Connect the power cord to the AC inlet on the main unit, then plug the other end into a standard AC wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the POWER button on the main unit or remote control to turn the system on or off.

5.2 Source Selection

  • Press the FUNCTION button on the main unit or the dedicated source buttons (CD, USB, FM, AUX, Bluetooth) on the remote control to select the desired input source.

5.3 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Select the Bluetooth source. The display will show "PAIRING" or "BT PAIR".
  2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "SHARP XL-B512" from the list of devices.
  4. Once paired, the display will indicate a successful connection, and you can stream audio from your device.

5.4 CD Playback

  1. Select the CD source.
  2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
  3. Place a CD (audio CD, CD-R/RW with MP3) with the label side up into the tray.
  4. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray. Playback will begin automatically or after pressing PLAY/PAUSE.
  5. Use the SKIP buttons (◀◀ / ▶▶) to navigate tracks.

5.5 USB Playback

  1. Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 audio files into the USB port on the front of the main unit.
  2. Select the USB source. Playback will begin automatically.
  3. Use the PLAY/PAUSE and SKIP buttons to control playback.

5.6 FM Radio

  1. Select the FM source.
  2. Press and hold the TUNE +/- buttons on the remote or main unit to automatically scan for the next available station.
  3. Press the TUNE +/- buttons briefly to manually adjust the frequency step by step.
  4. To save a station, press the PROG/MEM button, use SKIP buttons to select a preset number, then press PROG/MEM again to confirm.

5.7 AUX Input

  1. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack on the front of the main unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied).
  2. Select the AUX source.
  3. Control playback and volume from the connected external device.

5.8 Sound Adjustment

  • Use the VOLUME knob on the main unit or VOL+/- buttons on the remote to adjust the overall volume.
  • Press the BASS and TREBLE buttons on the remote to adjust bass and treble levels.
  • Press the LOUDNESS button on the remote to enhance bass and treble at low volumes.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the system from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the main unit and speakers.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
  • For the CD lens, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner disc.

6.2 Storage

  • If storing the system for an extended period, disconnect it from the power supply.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

Before seeking service, please refer to the following table for common issues and their solutions:
