1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the GUESS Gents Black Silicone Strap Watch, Model GW0571G1. This timepiece features a unique rounded square case design with screw details and a textured multi-function dial with an ombre effect. It is equipped with a quartz analog multi-function movement and is water resistant to 50 meters.

2. Initial Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the watch from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage. Ensure all protective films are removed from the crystal and case back.

2.2 Setting Time and Date

Your GUESS GW0571G1 watch features a multi-function quartz movement. The crown (located on the right side of the watch case) is used to set the time and date.

1. Pull the crown out to position 2: This is typically the outermost position. The second hand will stop.
2. Rotate the crown: Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the main hour and minute hands to the correct time. Ensure you set the AM/PM correctly if your watch has a 24-hour indicator.
3. Push the crown back to position 1: This is the middle position.
4. Set the Date: Rotate the crown in position 1 to adjust the date sub-dial. Some watches require rotating the crown in one direction for the date and the other for the day. Refer to the specific movement instructions if available.
5. Set the Day of the Week: If applicable, rotate the crown in position 1 to adjust the day of the week sub-dial.
6. Push the crown back to position 0: This is the normal operating position, closest to the watch case. The second hand will resume movement.

Note: Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.

2.3 Strap Adjustment

The watch comes with a black smooth silicone strap with a buckle clasp. Adjust the strap by inserting the pin into the desired hole for a comfortable and secure fit on your wrist.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Reading the Time

The main hour and minute hands indicate the current time. The second hand provides continuous timekeeping.

3.2 Multifunction Dial

Your watch features a multifunction dial with sub-dials for:

• Day of the Week: Typically located at the 9 o'clock or 12 o'clock position.
• Date: Often located at the 3 o'clock or 6 o'clock position.
• 24-Hour Indicator: This sub-dial displays the time in a 24-hour format, useful for distinguishing AM/PM.

These sub-dials are synchronized with the main time setting. Adjustments are made via the crown as described in Section 2.2.

3.3 Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM). This means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or snorkeling. Avoid operating the crown or pushers when the watch is wet or submerged, as this can compromise the water resistance.

• 50 Meters (5 ATM): Suitable for showering, bathing, and shallow swimming.
• Not suitable for: Diving, snorkeling, hot tubs, or high-pressure water activities.

4. Care and Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. For silicone straps, a damp cloth with mild soap can be used, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

4.2 Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by one Lithium Metal battery (included). When the watch stops or the second hand begins to skip, the battery may need replacement. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

4.3 Storage

When not in use, store your watch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Keep it in its original box or a watch case to protect it from scratches.

5. Troubleshooting

• Watch not running:
  • Check if the crown is pushed all the way into position 0.
  • The battery may be depleted. Refer to Section 4.2 for battery replacement.
• Time or Date is incorrect:
  • Refer to Section 2.2 for instructions on setting the time and date.
  • Ensure the crown is fully pushed in after setting.
• Condensation under the crystal:
  • This may indicate a loss of water resistance. Avoid further contact with water and seek professional service immediately.
