Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • After each use, especially in sandy or muddy conditions, wipe down the coil and stem with a damp cloth.
  • For saltwater use, rinse the coil and lower stem thoroughly with fresh water to prevent corrosion.
  • The remote control can be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.

2. Battery Care

  • Store the device with a partial charge (around 50%) if not used for extended periods.
  • Avoid fully discharging the batteries frequently, as this can reduce their lifespan.
  • Charge the batteries in a cool, dry environment.

3. Storage

Store your Deus II RC in a dry, temperate place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Disassemble the stem if needed for compact storage.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power to remote control/coilLow battery; connection issueCharge batteries fully. Ensure secure wireless connection between remote and coil.
Erratic signals or false positivesHigh mineralization; electromagnetic interference; incorrect ground balancePerform ground balance. Reduce sensitivity. Move away from power lines or other electronics.
Poor depth detectionIncorrect program/frequency; highly mineralized ground; coil not parallel to groundSelect appropriate program. Re-ground balance. Sweep coil parallel to the ground.
Remote control not connecting to coilOut of range; interference; pairing issueEnsure components are within range. Check for strong interference sources. Re-pair the remote control and coil as per the advanced manual.
