3. Setup Guide

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the camera's built-in 10400mAh battery using the provided USB cable. Connect the cable to the camera's charging port and a standard 5V/2A USB power adapter (not included). A full charge ensures the camera has sufficient power for initial setup and operation, especially before solar charging becomes effective.

3.2 SIM Card Activation and Data Plan

Your camera comes with a pre-inserted 4G LTE SIM card. This SIM card is essential for the camera's cellular connectivity. It includes 300MB of free data for testing purposes. To continue using the camera, you will need to subscribe to a data plan after the trial data is consumed. The camera is designed to work in the US ONLY with the provided SIM card. 3.3 App Installation and Pairing

  1. Download the UBOX app from your smartphone's app store (available for Android and iOS).
  2. Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Power on the camera.
  4. In the UBOX app, select 'Add Device' and follow the on-screen prompts. You will typically be asked to scan the UID QR code located on the camera.
  5. Once scanned, the camera will connect to the cellular network and pair with your app.

3.4 Mounting the Camera and Solar Panel

Choose a suitable outdoor location for mounting. The camera is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum direct sunlight throughout the day for optimal charging. The camera's IP66 waterproof rating allows it to withstand various weather conditions.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live View and PTZ Control

4.2 Motion Detection and Alerts

The camera features a passive infrared sensor (PIR) for motion detection. When a moving human or vehicle is detected, the camera will instantly push a notification to your phone. You can customize motion sensitivity settings within the UBOX app to reduce false alarms.

4.5 Video Storage

Recorded videos can be stored in two ways:

  • Micro SD Card: Insert a micro SD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the camera's designated slot. Videos will be recorded locally.
  • Cloud Storage: Subscribe to a cloud plan (30-day free trial available) to upload videos to the cloud. This ensures your footage is safe even if the camera is stolen or damaged. You can playback recordings from the app regardless of the camera's status.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the camera lens and solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear image quality and efficient solar charging. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the surfaces.
