1. Setup

1.1. What's in the Box

Verify that all components are present in your MAONO PD200X package:

  • Dynamic Microphone
  • Shock Mount
  • 2.5m USB-C to USB-A/C Cable
  • 5/8'' to 3/8'' Adapter
  • User's Manual

1.2. Physical Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your microphone:

  1. Attach the shock mount to the microphone. Ensure it is securely fastened to minimize vibrations.
  2. Mount the microphone assembly onto a compatible microphone stand or boom arm. Use the provided 5/8'' to 3/8'' adapter if necessary to match your stand's thread size.
  3. Connect the 2.5m USB-C to USB-A/C cable to the USB-C port on the microphone.
  4. Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer's USB-A or USB-C port.
  5. Alternatively, for XLR connectivity, connect an XLR cable (not included) from the microphone's XLR output to your audio interface or mixer.

2.1. Connectivity Options

The MAONO PD200X offers dual connectivity for various applications:

  • USB Mode: Provides plug-and-play compatibility with Windows, Mac OS, and Android operating systems. Ideal for direct connection to computers and mobile devices for streaming, gaming, and basic recording.
  • XLR Mode: Allows seamless integration with professional audio interfaces and mixers. This mode is suitable for advanced recording setups, live sound, and studio environments, offering greater control over audio processing.

2.2. Controls and Features

The PD200X is equipped with intuitive controls for ease of use:

  • 2-in-1 Smart Knob: This multi-function knob allows for easy adjustment of both microphone gain and headphone volume. A simple press switches between controlling these two parameters.
  • One-Click Mute Key: Located conveniently, this button instantly mutes or unmutes the microphone. An integrated LED indicator clearly shows the microphone's mute status.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: A 3.5mm headphone jack provides direct, zero-latency monitoring of your audio, ensuring you hear exactly what the microphone is capturing.
  • Immersive RGB Lighting: Customize your setup with 9 vibrant RGB lighting hues. Easily switch between colors and control the lighting with a dedicated button, enhancing the visual ambiance (this function is supported in USB mode only).

2.3. MAONO Link Software

For advanced audio customization and control, download the MAONO Link software from the official MAONO website. This software allows you to:

  • Adjust Equalizer (EQ) settings to shape your sound.
  • Utilize Limiter and Compressor functions for dynamic range control.
  • Fine-tune microphone gain and headphone volume.
  • Control RGB lighting effects and brightness.

Note: EQ, Limiter, and Compressor adjustments are available in USB mode only.

3. Maintenance

3.1. Care and Handling

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MAONO PD200X microphone, follow these care guidelines:

  • Keep the microphone in a dry environment and avoid exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Clean the microphone's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Handle the microphone and its components with care to prevent physical damage. The PD200X features a durable metal construction designed for longevity.
  • When not in use, store the microphone in a protective case or a clean, dust-free area.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1. Common Issues and Solutions

RGB lighting is not working.Microphone not in USB mode, lighting turned off in software.
  • Ensure the microphone is connected via USB. RGB lighting is not supported in XLR mode.
  • Check the RGB settings in the MAONO Link software to ensure it is enabled and brightness is adjusted.
MAONO Link software does not recognize the microphone.USB connection issue, software installation problem.
  • Try connecting the USB cable to a different USB port on your computer.
  • Ensure the USB cable is fully inserted into both the microphone and the computer.
  • Reinstall the MAONO Link software from the official website.
  • Restart your computer.
