Product Features

Addressable Smart WS2811 IC

This LED strip incorporates 100 WS2811 IC chips, enabling individual control of LED segments. This allows for dynamic, multi-color displays and chasing effects, unlike traditional RGB strips that can only show one color at a time. The FCOB (Flip Chip On Board) technology ensures a brighter, softer, and more uniform light output compared to conventional 5050SMD LED strips, eliminating visible hot spots.

Chasing Color Capabilities

Experience over 16 million colors with real-time synchronized chasing sequences. The advanced RGB technology supports various dynamic lighting effects such as color curtain, flowing water, raindrops, and jumping flashes. This strip is compatible with a range of controllers (sold separately), including Tuya DR03W Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Alexa, Google Home & RF controllers; BanlanX APP, SP530E, SP630E, SP611E, SP602E, SP608E; and WLED ESP32 SP803E SP805E.

Setup & Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your LED strip:

  1. Test the Light Strip: Before permanent installation, connect the strip to a compatible controller and power supply to ensure it functions correctly.
  2. Prepare the Surface: Clean the area where the strip will be installed. The surface must be dry, smooth, and free of dust or grease for optimal adhesive performance.
  3. Cut to Length (Optional): The flexible 12mm COB strip can be cut at marked intervals every 1.96 inches (50mm). Use sharp scissors and cut only along the designated cut marks.
  4. Apply the Strip: Remove the backing from the strong 3M adhesive tape and carefully press the strip onto the prepared surface. Ensure firm and even pressure along the entire length.
  5. Connect Controller and Power: Connect the 3-pin male connector of the LED strip to your chosen controller. Pay close attention to the data direction indicated on the strip. Then, connect the controller to a compatible DC12V power supply.
  6. Secure Connections: Use the provided fixed clips for additional security, especially on corners or uneven surfaces.

Maintenance

The BTF-LIGHTING LED strip is designed for long-term use with a lifespan exceeding 65,000 hours. Minimal maintenance is required:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the strip with a dry, soft cloth if dust accumulates. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Adhesion: The strong 3M adhesive provides reliable attachment. If the strip begins to peel, ensure the surface is clean and dry before re-applying pressure or using additional clips for support.
  • Storage: If removing the strip for storage, coil it loosely and store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your LED strip, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • No Light or Partial Lighting:
    • Check if the power supply is correctly connected and providing the correct DC12V output.
    • Ensure the controller is properly connected to both the power supply and the LED strip.
    • Verify the data direction arrow on the LED strip aligns with the controller's output.
    • If the strip was cut, check all connections at the cut points for proper contact.
  • Incorrect Colors or Glitchy Effects:
    • Confirm that your controller is compatible with WS2811 ICs and is configured correctly for the number of LEDs.
    • Ensure the color order setting in your controller software (e.g., RGB, GRB, BRG) matches the strip's configuration.
    • Check for loose connections or damaged segments on the strip.
  • Adhesive Not Holding:
    • Ensure the installation surface was thoroughly cleaned and dry before application.
    • For porous or textured surfaces, additional mounting clips or stronger adhesive may be required.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please refer to the Technical Support section.
