2. Safety Instructions

5. Setup
5.1 Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the vacuum cleaner. The powerful 18.5V lithium-ion battery provides up to 50 minutes of runtime in Eco mode.
- Connect the charging station to a power outlet.
- Place the handheld vacuum unit onto the charging station. Ensure it is securely seated.
- The LED indicator on the unit will show the charging status. Once fully charged, the indicator will change.

5.2 Assembling for Floor Cleaning
To use the appliance as a floor vacuum:
- Attach the extension tube firmly to the main handheld vacuum unit.
- Connect the floor head to the other end of the extension tube until it clicks into place.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press the power button located on the handle to turn the vacuum cleaner on or off.
6.2 Dry Vacuuming
For general dry cleaning, select the appropriate attachment:
- Standard Nozzle: For everyday dust and debris on hard surfaces.
- Rotating Turbo Brush: Ideal for carpets, rugs, and upholstery to effectively remove pet hair and embedded dirt. The integrated LED light illuminates the cleaning path.
- Flexible Crevice Tool: For reaching narrow gaps, corners, and tight spaces, such as in car interiors.

6.3 Wet Vacuuming
The Wet & Dry function allows for the absorption of liquids up to 150 ml.
- Ensure the dust container is empty and clean before wet vacuuming.
- Attach the interchangeable rubber nozzle to the handheld unit.
- Carefully vacuum the liquid spill. Do not exceed the maximum liquid capacity of 150 ml.
- Immediately after use, empty and clean the dust container and rubber nozzle.

6.4 Car Cleaning

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.
7.1 Emptying the Dust Container
The dust container should be emptied regularly, especially when the MAX line is reached or suction power decreases.
- Press the release button to detach the dust container from the handheld unit.
- Open the dust container and empty its contents into a waste bin.
- Reattach the dust container securely to the handheld unit.

7.2 Cleaning the Filter
The filter should be cleaned regularly to maintain suction power. For optimal performance, clean the filter after every few uses.
- Remove the dust container as described in section 7.1.
- Carefully remove the filter from the dust container.
- Tap the filter gently to dislodge dust. For a more thorough cleaning, rinse the filter under running water.
- Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinserting it into the dust container and reattaching it to the vacuum unit.
7.3 Cleaning the Wet & Dry Nozzle
After wet vacuuming, detach and rinse the rubber nozzle and the interior of the dust container with water. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SEVERIN HV 7147, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
