Operating Instructions
General Printing
Once your printer is connected via Bluetooth (using the Phomemo App) or USB (to PC/laptop), you can initiate printing. Select the document or image you wish to print from your device. Adjust print settings such as darkness or size within the app or printer driver if available. The printer will automatically feed the paper and produce the thermal print.
Tattoo Stencil Printing
The Phomemo M08F is also designed for tattoo stencil printing. For best results, use Phomemo Tattoo Transfer Paper. The process is similar to general printing, but specific considerations apply to the design:
- Supported Designs: Simple lines, complex lines, and black patterns without shadows are generally well-supported.
- Unsupported Designs: Complex shadows, excessive color (as it prints monochrome), and black/color backgrounds are not recommended for optimal stencil clarity.

Figure 6: Tattoo Design Compatibility.
This image visually demonstrates which types of tattoo designs (simple lines, complex lines, black patterns without shadow) are suitable for printing with the Phomemo M08F, and which (complex shadow, excessive color, black/color background) are not recommended for clear results.
After printing the stencil, apply tattoo gel to the skin, paste the stencil, and then proceed with tattooing. Always ensure the skin is clean and prepared according to standard tattooing practices.

This image illustrates the three key steps for transferring a tattoo stencil onto the skin: applying tattoo gel, carefully pasting the printed stencil, and then beginning the tattooing process.
Maintenance
The Phomemo M08F is an inkless thermal printer, which simplifies maintenance significantly as there are no ink cartridges to replace or print heads to clean from ink clogs. However, proper care is still essential for longevity and consistent print quality:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the printer with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Print Head Care: If print quality degrades (e.g., faded lines, streaks), gently clean the thermal print head. Refer to the detailed user guide for specific instructions on accessing and cleaning the print head.
- Paper Storage: Store thermal paper in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to prevent premature fading or damage to the paper's thermal coating.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the printer frequently. Charge it regularly, especially if it will be stored for an extended period.
