3. Setup Guide

3.1. Download the App

The ANTELA camera operates with the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app. Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" in your mobile app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store) and download it. Register an account if you are a new user.

3.2. Power On the Camera

  1. Connect the power adapter to the camera's power port.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. Wait for the camera to power on. You should hear a prompt sound or see an indicator light flashing, indicating it's ready for pairing.

3.3. Add Device to App

  1. Open the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
  3. Select "Security & Video Surveillance" and then choose "Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)" or "Smart Camera (2.4GHz&5GHz)" if available.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz or 5GHz).
  5. Scan the QR code displayed on your phone screen with the camera lens. Hold the phone about 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) from the camera until you hear a confirmation sound.
  6. Once connected, the camera will appear in your device list. You can rename it for easier identification.

3.4. Micro SD Card Installation (Optional)

The camera supports a Micro SD card up to 128GB for local video storage.

  1. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the camera. This is typically found by gently tilting the camera lens upwards or rotating the dome.
  2. Insert the Micro SD card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place.
  3. Format the SD card via the app settings for proper functionality.

Note: A slight protrusion of the SD card after insertion is normal and does not affect functionality.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Live View

Open the app and select your camera from the device list to access the live video feed. You can view real-time footage from anywhere with an internet connection.

4.2. Pan and Tilt Control

On the live view screen, swipe your finger across the video feed to control the camera's horizontal (355°) and vertical (80°) movement. This allows you to adjust the viewing angle remotely.

4.3. Two-Way Audio

Tap the microphone icon in the app to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's surroundings. This feature enables real-time communication.

4.4. Motion Detection and Smart Tracking

Enable motion detection in the app settings. When motion is detected, the camera will send a notification to your smartphone. You can also activate smart tracking, which allows the camera to automatically follow detected movement. Adjust tracking sensitivity as needed.

4.5. Night Vision

The camera automatically switches to infrared night vision mode in low-light conditions, providing clear black and white video up to 5 meters. This feature ensures 24/7 monitoring.

4.6. Smart Home Integration

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check for firmware updates through the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • SD Card Management: If using an SD card, periodically check its status and format it if necessary to prevent storage issues. Back up important recordings before formatting.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the camera is connected to a stable power source. Avoid using non-standard power adapters.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Camera Offline

  • Check if the camera is powered on and the power adapter is securely connected.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working correctly and the camera is within range.
  • Restart the camera by unplugging and replugging the power cable.
  • If the issue persists, try resetting the camera (see 6.4 Resetting the Camera) and re-pairing it with the app.

6.2. Failed to Connect to Wi-Fi

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi password is correct.
  • Confirm that your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network (depending on your selection during setup).
  • Move the camera closer to the router during the setup process.
  • Avoid special characters in your Wi-Fi name (SSID) or password.

6.3. SD Card Not Recording

  • Ensure the Micro SD card is inserted correctly and fully.
  • Check if the SD card is formatted within the app.
  • Verify that the recording settings (e.g., continuous recording, event recording) are enabled in the app.
  • The SD card might be full; consider formatting it (this will erase all data) or replacing it.

6.4. Resetting the Camera

To reset the camera to factory settings, locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole near the SD card slot). Use a pin or a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until you hear a prompt sound or see the indicator light change. After resetting, you will need to re-pair the camera with the app.
