Installation
The Ibergrif M84040B sink supports both topmount and undermount installation methods. Choose the method appropriate for your countertop and cabinet structure.
1. Preparing the Countertop
For both installation types, accurate measurement and cutting of the countertop opening are crucial. Refer to the provided diagrams for precise cutout dimensions.

Figure 3: Visual representation of topmount versus undermount installation.
Topmount Installation Cutout
For topmount installation, the cutout dimensions are typically 360-370mm in width and 370-380mm in depth, with R10 corner radii. The sink rim will rest on the countertop surface.

Undermount Installation Cutout
For undermount installation, the cutout dimensions are typically 350mm in width and 350mm in depth, with R10 corner radii. The sink is mounted beneath the countertop, creating a seamless look.

2. Installing the Drain Assembly
- Apply plumber's putty or a silicone sealant around the drain opening on the underside of the sink.
- Insert the drain flange into the sink's drain hole from the top.
- From underneath the sink, attach the rubber gasket, friction washer, and locknut to the drain flange. Tighten securely.
- Connect the P-trap and waste pipe components to the drain assembly, ensuring all connections are watertight.

3. Securing the Sink
Follow the specific instructions provided with your mounting clips and hardware to secure the sink to the countertop. Ensure a tight seal between the sink and the countertop to prevent water leaks.
Operation
The Ibergrif M84040B sink is designed for daily kitchen use. Its spacious single bowl accommodates large items, and the integrated drain filter helps prevent clogs.
- Drain Filter: The removable drain filter basket collects food particles and debris, preventing them from entering the plumbing system. Empty the basket regularly.
- Overflow Protection: The sink features an overflow hole to prevent water from spilling onto the countertop if the main drain is blocked or the faucet is left running.
- Noise Reduction: Integrated noise insulating pads at the bottom of the sink minimize sound during use.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your stainless steel sink.
- Daily Cleaning: Wipe the sink surface with a soft cloth and mild soap or a non-abrasive cleaner after each use. Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Stain Removal: For stubborn stains, use a stainless steel cleaner and follow the product instructions. Always rub in the direction of the grain.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals (e.g., bleach, ammonia-based cleaners) as these can scratch or damage the finish.
- Drain Filter: Regularly remove and clean the drain filter basket to prevent food buildup and odors.
- Water Spots: To prevent water spots, wipe the sink dry after use, especially in hard water areas.
Product Care Instructions: Wipe with Dry Cloth.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your kitchen sink.
- Slow Drainage:
- Check if the drain filter basket is clogged with food debris. Clean it thoroughly.
- Inspect the P-trap for blockages. If necessary, disassemble and clean.
- Ensure the plumbing connections are not overtightened, which can restrict flow.
- Water Leaks:
- Verify all plumbing connections are tight and properly sealed with plumber's tape or sealant.
- Check the seal between the sink and the countertop. Reapply sealant if necessary.
- Scratches on Surface:
- Stainless steel can scratch. Use cutting boards and avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects across the sink surface.
- Minor scratches can sometimes be blended with a fine abrasive pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, but this should be done with caution.
