Introduction

The ACEBEAM Defender P17 is a high-performance rechargeable tactical flashlight designed for various applications including law enforcement, security, emergency use, outdoor activities, and general illumination. It features a powerful CREE XHP70.3 HI LED, delivering a maximum output of 4900 lumens and a beam distance of up to 445 meters. The P17 is equipped with dual tail switches for intuitive operation and includes a built-in USB Type-C charging port for convenience.

Safety Information

• Do not point the flashlight directly into eyes. The high-intensity beam can cause temporary vision impairment or permanent eye damage.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not disassemble the sealed head of the flashlight. Doing so may cause damage to the flashlight and will void the warranty.
• Use only the specified ACEBEAM 5100mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery (IMR NP-510A) or equivalent recommended by the manufacturer.
• Avoid exposing the flashlight to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
• Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed when not charging to maintain water resistance.
• The front bezel contains 3 silicon nitride ceramic beads for emergency glass shattering. Handle with care to avoid injury.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight counter-clockwise.
2. Insert the ACEBEAM 5100mAh Li-ion battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight.
3. Screw the tail cap back on clockwise until it is fully tightened. Ensure a secure connection for proper operation and water resistance.

2. Charging the Battery

The included battery has a built-in USB Type-C charging port. You can charge the battery directly without removing it from the flashlight, or charge it externally.

• Locate the USB Type-C port on the battery.
• Connect the provided USB Type-C charging cable to the battery's port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter, power bank).
• The indicator light on the battery will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
• Charging time may vary depending on the power source.

Operating Instructions

Dual Tail Switch Operation

The Defender P17 features two tail switches: a Tactical Switch and a Functional Switch.

• Tactical Switch (Larger, protruding button):
  • Press and hold for momentary ON (Turbo mode). Release to turn OFF.
  • Click for constant ON (Turbo mode). Click again to turn OFF.
• Functional Switch (Smaller, recessed button):
  • From OFF: Press and hold for momentary Strobe. Release to turn OFF.
  • From OFF: Click for constant ON (last used mode, excluding Turbo/Strobe).
  • From ON: Click to cycle through brightness modes (e.g., Low-Medium-High).
  • From ON: Press and hold for Strobe. Release to return to previous mode.

Mode Memory

The flashlight will remember the last used brightness level (excluding Turbo and Strobe) when turned off via the Functional Switch.

Emergency Glass Shattering

The front bezel of the Defender P17 is equipped with 3 silicon nitride ceramic beads. In an emergency, these can be used to shatter glass. Apply firm pressure to the glass surface with the bezel.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Clean the flashlight body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• O-rings: Periodically check and lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease to maintain water resistance. Replace O-rings if they are damaged.
• Threads: Keep the threads of the tail cap clean. Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the threads occasionally.
• Battery Care:
  • Charge the battery fully before first use.
  • Recharge the battery every 3-4 months if not in regular use to prolong its lifespan.
  • Do not over-discharge the battery.
• Storage: Store the flashlight in a cool, dry place. For long-term storage, remove the battery to prevent accidental activation or battery drain.
