Setup and Installation
The Dreambaby Liberty gate is a pressure-mounted gate designed for easy installation without permanent fixtures in most doorways and hallways. For stairway use, screw-in wall cups are mandatory.
1. Measure Your Opening
Before installation, accurately measure the width of your opening. This gate is suitable for openings between 39 and 45.5 inches (99-115.5 cm) wide and is 30 inches (76 cm) tall. Ensure you have adequate space for the tension bolts; they should not be extended more than 6cm.

2. Assemble the Gate
- Unpack all components and ensure all parts are present.
- Insert the tension bolts into the four corners of the gate frame.
- If using extensions, attach them to the main gate frame according to the instructions provided with the extension kit.
3. Position and Secure the Gate
- Place the gate in the desired opening.
- Adjust the tension bolts by rotating them until the gate is firmly held in place. Ensure the gate is level and centered.
- For stairway use, position the wall cups at the top and bottom of the gate, mark the screw holes, and securely screw the wall cups into the wall. Then, ensure the tension bolts fit snugly into the wall cups.

Operating Instructions
Opening the Gate
The Dreambaby Liberty gate features a one-handed operation mechanism. To open:
- Locate the latch mechanism at the top of the gate.
- Slide the release button and lift the gate door simultaneously.
- Swing the gate door open in either direction.

Closing the Gate
Simply push the gate door closed until you hear a click, indicating it is securely latched. The gate is designed to automatically close and latch when released from a partially open position.
Smart Stay-Open Feature
For convenience, the gate includes a Smart Stay-Open feature. To activate, open the gate door past a certain point (usually around 90 degrees) until it locks into an open position. To close, simply push the gate door gently, and it will disengage from the stay-open position and close automatically.

- Ensure the gate is installed level and the tension bolts are tightened sufficiently. The gap between the gate frame and the latch mechanism should be minimal when the gate is open, allowing for proper engagement when closed. Adjust tension bolts evenly on both sides.
- Gate feels loose or wobbly:
- Re-tighten all four tension bolts. If installed in a stairway, ensure the wall cups are securely screwed into the wall.
- Gate is difficult to open:
- Check for any obstructions. Ensure the latch mechanism is clean and free of debris. A small amount of lubricant on the moving parts of the latch may help.
- Gate does not stay open (Smart Stay-Open feature):
- Ensure you are opening the gate door wide enough for the stay-open mechanism to engage. It typically requires opening past 90 degrees until a slight click is felt.
