2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:

- Regularly clean the filters to maintain optimal performance and prevent grease buildup.
- Do not flambé under the range hood.

4. Installation and Setup
The CATA GCB 73 X hood is designed for wall-mounted installation. Ensure adequate clearance above the cooking surface as per local building codes and manufacturer recommendations (typically 65-75 cm for electric hobs, 75-85 cm for gas hobs).
4.1 Mounting the Hood
- Carefully unpack the hood and check for any damage.
- Determine the desired mounting height and mark the drilling points on the wall according to the provided template or dimensions.
- Drill holes and insert wall plugs.
- Secure the mounting bracket (if separate) or the hood itself to the wall using the provided screws.
- Ensure the hood is level and securely fastened.
4.2 Ducting Connection
Connect the exhaust ducting to the outlet on top of the hood. Ensure the ducting is as straight and short as possible to maximize extraction efficiency. Use a duct with a diameter of 150mm for optimal performance.
4.3 Electrical Connection
Connect the hood to a suitable electrical outlet (220V, 50Hz). Ensure the power supply is disconnected during installation. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.

5. Operation
The CATA GCB 73 X features mechanical push-button controls for easy operation.
5.1 Power Levels
The hood offers 3 extraction power levels:
- Level 1: For light cooking and simmering.
- Level 2: For general cooking with moderate steam and odors.
- Level 3: For intensive cooking, frying, or when strong odors are present.
Press the corresponding button on the control panel to select the desired power level. Press the 'Off' button to turn off the extraction.
5.2 LED Lighting
The hood is equipped with an energy-efficient LED strip light to illuminate your cooking area. Press the light button on the control panel to turn the light on or off.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your hood.
6.1 Cleaning the Grease Filters
The metal grease filters should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to prevent grease buildup and maintain extraction efficiency. They can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher.
- Ensure the hood is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.
- Open the filter access panel (refer to Figure 5).
- Release the filter latches and carefully remove the filters.
- Wash the filters with hot water and a mild detergent, or place them in a dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle.
- Allow the filters to dry completely before re-installing them.
- Re-insert the filters and close the access panel.

6.2 Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the stainless steel exterior with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for stainless steel. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
