2. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for a smooth installation of your NUTOMO Smart Lock Set. Ensure your door meets the compatibility requirements before beginning.
Door Compatibility:
- Fits doors 1-1/4" to 1-3/4" in thickness.
- Adjustable metal door latches (2-3/8" or 2-3/4").
- Compatible with both right and left handing doors.

Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Door: Ensure your door is pre-drilled to standard specifications.
- Adjust Deadbolt: Adjust the length of the deadbolt to either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" as needed. Ensure the "UP" marking faces upwards and the deadbolt is in the retracted (unlocked) status.
- Install Deadbolt and Strike Plate: Insert the deadbolt into the door edge and secure it with the provided screws. Install the strike plate on the door frame.
- Install Exterior Lock: Route the IC wire under the deadbolt. Ensure the spindle is in a vertical position. Do not insert the physical key at this stage.
- Install Interior Lock: Route the IC wire through the hole in the metal plate (the hole should be on the right). Secure the metal plate with screws.
- Connect Cables and Secure: Connect the IC cable tightly to the port on the interior lock. Rotate the door knob to the vertical position and secure the interior lock with screws.
- Install Batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the interior unit while the lock is in the unlocked state. Close the battery cover.
- Test Lock: Rotate the door knob to ensure the deadbolt extends and retracts smoothly.

4. Maintenance

Battery Management:
- The lock is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included).
- Batteries can last up to 6 months depending on usage.
- The Next Lock APP will provide low battery reminders. Regularly check the battery status in the APP.
- For emergency backup, the lock supports Type-C powered backup if batteries are completely drained.

5. Troubleshooting

Common Issues:
- Fingerprint Not Registering: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint in the APP, ensuring different parts of your finger are scanned.
- Battery Percentage Inaccurate/Fluctuating: This can sometimes occur with new batteries. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and are of good quality. If issues persist, contact support.
- Lock Not Fully Unlocking/Retracting: Check for any obstructions in the door frame or latch mechanism. Ensure the deadbolt is properly aligned. Lubricating the bolt mechanism might help.
- Connectivity Issues with Alexa/APP: Ensure the optional gateway is properly set up and connected to your home Wi-Fi. Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone for APP connection.
- Keypad Not Responding: Check battery levels. If the keypad is locked due to incorrect attempts, wait for the 3-minute lockout period to expire.
