3. Setup Instructions
The HBTower 5-Step Folding Ladder requires minimal assembly for its first use. All necessary tools are included in the package.
3.1 Unfolding the Ladder:
- Place the folded ladder on a flat, stable surface.
- Grasp the top section of the ladder and gently pull the front and back legs apart until the ladder is fully extended.
- Push down on the top pedal until you hear a 'click' sound, indicating that the safety locking mechanism is automatically engaged. Verify the ladder is stable before proceeding.

3.2 Attaching Handrails and Tool Tray (First-Time Assembly):
The handrails and tool tray are attached using the provided screws and Allen wrench.
- Identify the left and right handrails. They may be marked.
- Align the holes on the handrails with the corresponding holes on the ladder frame.
- Insert the provided screws and tighten them securely with the Allen wrench. Ensure all screws are fully tightened for stability.
- Attach the tool tray to the designated slots at the top of the ladder frame, ensuring it clicks into place or is secured with screws as per the detailed instructions in the included manual.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Using the Ladder:
- Ensure the ladder is fully open and locked.
- Use the handrails for support as you climb each step.
- Place your entire foot on the wide anti-slip pedals for maximum stability.
- When working at height, utilize the tool tray to keep necessary items within easy reach, minimizing movement up and down the ladder.
- Descend the ladder facing the steps, maintaining three points of contact.

4.2 Folding for Storage:
- Ensure no items are left on the tool tray or steps.
- Lift the safety locking mechanism (usually a yellow tab under the top pedal) to release the lock.
- Gently push the front and back sections of the ladder together until it is fully folded.
- Store the folded ladder in a dry, secure location, away from high traffic areas.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your HBTower ladder.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the ladder with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish or anti-slip surfaces.
- Inspection: Periodically check all bolts, screws, and joints to ensure they are tight and secure. Inspect the anti-slip pedals and rubber feet for wear or damage. Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.
- Storage: Store the ladder in a dry place to prevent rust. Keep it away from extreme temperatures.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your HBTower ladder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Ladder feels unstable: Ensure the ladder is fully unfolded and the safety locking mechanism is engaged. Check that all four rubber feet are making firm contact with a level surface.
- Difficulty folding/unfolding: Ensure the safety locking mechanism is properly disengaged before folding. Check for any obstructions in the hinge areas. Do not force the mechanism.
- Loose handrails/tool tray: Re-tighten all screws securing the handrails and tool tray. If screws are stripped or missing, contact customer support for replacements.
