Ultra-Portable Waterproof and Dustproof Bluetooth Speaker

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the JBL Clip 4 Eco. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your new portable Bluetooth speaker. The JBL Clip 4 Eco delivers rich JBL Original Pro Sound in a compact, eco-friendly design, featuring an integrated carabiner for ultimate portability and IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating.

Setup

1. Charging the Speaker

Before first use, fully charge your JBL Clip 4 Eco. Connect the included Type-C to Type-A charging cable to the speaker's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included). A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides up to 10 hours of playtime.

2. Powering On/Off

To power on the speaker, press the power button located on the side. The LED indicator will illuminate. To power off, press and hold the power button until the LED turns off.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

The JBL Clip 4 Eco is designed for wireless Bluetooth streaming from compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and personal computers.

Power on the JBL Clip 4 Eco.
Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker. The LED indicator will flash blue, indicating it is in pairing mode.
On your device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
Select "JBL Clip 4 Eco" from the list of devices.
Once connected, the LED indicator will turn solid blue. You are now ready to stream audio.

The Bluetooth range is approximately 10 meters (33 feet).

Operating the Speaker

Basic Controls

Play/Pause: Press the play button (triangle symbol) once to play or pause audio.
Volume Up: Press the '+' button to increase volume.
Volume Down: Press the '-' button to decrease volume.
Skip Track: Double-press the play button to skip to the next track.

Integrated Carabiner

The JBL Clip 4 Eco features a redesigned carabiner integrated directly into the speaker's frame. This allows for easy attachment to bags, belt loops, or other straps, making it convenient to carry your music wherever you go.

Waterproof and Dustproof (IP67)

The JBL Clip 4 Eco is IP67 rated, meaning it is fully waterproof and dustproof. This allows you to safely use the speaker by the pool, at the beach, or in dusty environments without concern. Ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed before exposing the speaker to water or dust.

JBL Portable App

For enhanced control and features, you may be able to manage your JBL Clip 4 Eco through the JBL Portable app. Download the app from your device's app store and follow the in-app instructions for connection and customization.

Maintenance

Proper care will extend the life of your JBL Clip 4 Eco speaker:

Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the speaker's surface. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by rinsing with clean water (ensure port cover is sealed).
Drying: After exposure to water, ensure the speaker is completely dry before charging or opening the port cover.
Storage: Store the speaker in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Battery Care: To maintain battery health, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the speaker regularly, even if not in use for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your JBL Clip 4 Eco, try the following solutions:

Problem	Possible Solution
Speaker does not power on	Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the speaker to a power source using the charging cable.
Cannot pair via Bluetooth	Ensure the speaker is in pairing mode (flashing blue LED). Turn off and on Bluetooth on your device. Move the speaker closer to your device (within 10 meters). If previously paired, try forgetting the device on your phone and re-pairing. Ensure no other devices are currently connected to the speaker.
No sound or low volume	Increase the volume on both the speaker and your connected device. Ensure the speaker is properly paired and connected. Check if the audio source is playing.
Charging issue	Ensure the charging cable is securely connected to both the speaker and the power adapter. Try a different USB port or power adapter. Ensure the USB-C port is clean and free of debris.
