- 2 Ways to Brew: Compatible with K-Cup* pods and ground coffee.
- Fast Brewing: Prepares an 8 oz. cup in about 90 seconds.

- 4 Single-Serve Sizes for Hot Coffee: Choose from 8, 10, 12, or 14 oz. (8 or 10 oz. for pods).

Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Clean Before First Use: Wash the removable water reservoir, brew basket, and pod holder in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Position: Place the coffee maker on a stable, level surface.
- Fill Water Reservoir: Fill the removable 50 oz. water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Ensure it is securely placed back into the unit.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your Hamilton Beach FlexBrew coffee maker and ensure the best tasting coffee.
Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Cup Rest: Remove and wash the drip tray and cup rest with warm, soapy water after each use. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Pod Holder/Brew Basket: After each brew, remove and rinse the pod holder or reusable brew basket. Wash with warm, soapy water as needed.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
Descaling (Monthly or as needed)
Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.
- Empty the water reservoir.
- Fill the reservoir with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts cold water.
- Place a large mug on the drip tray.
- Run several brew cycles until the reservoir is empty.
- After descaling, run 2-3 cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse out any vinegar residue.
Cleaning the Puncture Needle
If you experience slow brewing or clogging, the puncture needle may be blocked by coffee grounds. Use a straightened paper clip to carefully clear any obstructions from the needle located under the lid. After clearing, you may need to gently tap the cap upside down on a paper towel and rinse again to ensure all debris is removed.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee not brewing / Machine making loud noise | Puncture needle clogged; mineral buildup. | Clean the puncture needle (see Maintenance). Perform a descaling cycle. |
| Lid pops open during brewing | Lid not firmly closed; latch mechanism worn. | Ensure the lid is pressed down firmly until it clicks. If the latch is damaged, contact customer support. |
| Water not dispensing | Water reservoir empty or not seated correctly. | Refill the water reservoir and ensure it is fully pushed into place. |
| Coffee grounds in cup | Pod/filter issue; overfilling ground coffee. | Ensure pod is correctly inserted or reusable filter is not overfilled. Try a different brand of pod or grind size. |
