Operating Instructions
Water Bath Canning
- Prepare Jars and Food: Ensure jars are clean and free from defects. Prepare your recipe according to tested canning guidelines.
- Fill Canner: Place the canning rack in the pot. Fill the pot with water to the appropriate level, ensuring jars will be covered by at least 1 inch of water during processing. Do not exceed the MAX FILL line.
- Preheat Jars (Optional): If your recipe requires hot jars, select the "Preheat Jar" setting on the control dial. The canner will heat the water to the optimal temperature.
- Load Jars: Carefully place filled and sealed jars onto the canning rack using a jar lifter. Ensure jars are not touching each other or the sides of the pot.
- Set Processing Time: Select the "Auto Canning" setting. Use the timer controls to set the required processing time for your recipe. The canner's "Press & Forget" technology will automatically bring the water to a boil and maintain the temperature, starting the timer once boiling is achieved.
- Monitor and Finish: The canner will beep when the processing time is complete and automatically shut off. Carefully remove jars using a jar lifter and place them on a towel-lined surface to cool for 12-24 hours.

Multicooker & Steamer Functionality
The Ball EasyCanner can also be used as a large-capacity multicooker or steamer. This functionality is ideal for preparing pasta, soups, vegetables, seafood, and other large-batch meals.
- For Steaming: Place the steam tray in the pot. Add water to just below the steam tray. Place food on the tray, cover with the lid, and select the "Steam" setting. Adjust time as needed.
- For Multicooking: Add ingredients directly to the pot. Select the "Cook" setting and adjust temperature and time as required for your recipe.
- Always refer to specific recipes for appropriate cooking times and temperatures.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Draining: After use and once the contents have cooled sufficiently, use the integrated spigot for mess-free draining of water into a sink.
- Pot Cleaning: The stainless steel pot should be hand-washed with warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the surface. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Lid, Rack, and Steam Tray: The lid, canning rack, and steam tray are dishwasher-safe for convenient cleaning.
- Base Unit: Wipe the electric base unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the base in water.
- Storage: Ensure all parts are dry before storing. Store the canner in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Ball EasyCanner, please consult the following common troubleshooting steps before contacting customer support.
- Appliance Not Turning On:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional electrical outlet.
- Check if the outlet is receiving power (test with another appliance).
- Verify the control dial is set to an active function (e.g., Preheat, Auto Canning, Cook, Steam).

- Confirm the pot contains water and the level is above the MIN line. The canner has a safety feature that prevents heating without liquid.
- Ensure the pot is correctly seated on the electric base.
- Timer Not Starting During Canning:
- For "Auto Canning," the timer will only begin once the water reaches a full rolling boil. This is normal operation.
- Ensure the lid is properly placed on the pot to allow for efficient heating.
- Excessive Steam Leakage:
- Check that the lid is correctly positioned and seated on the pot.
- Inspect the lid and pot rim for any debris that might prevent a proper seal.
