1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Audiolab 7000A Integrated Amplifier. This manual provides essential information for the safe and optimal operation of your device. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

The Audiolab 7000A is designed to deliver high-fidelity audio performance, combining a powerful Class AB amplifier with versatile digital and analog connectivity, including a high-quality DAC and phono stage.

2. Safety Information

Please observe the following safety precautions to ensure safe operation and to prevent damage to the unit:

• Power Source: Connect the unit only to an AC power source of the correct voltage as indicated on the rear panel.
• Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings. Maintain a minimum clearance of 10cm around the unit.
• Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or excessive humidity. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.
• Heat: Avoid placing the unit near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that produce heat.
• Cleaning: Clean only with a dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
• Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
• Cables: Protect power cords from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully unpack the amplifier. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or servicing needs. Ensure all accessories, including the remote control and power cable, are present.

3.2 Placement

Place the Audiolab 7000A on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation.

3.3 Connections

Refer to Figure 3 for an overview of the rear panel connections.

3.3.1 Speaker Connections

Connect your loudspeakers to the speaker terminals on the rear panel. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and – to –) for each speaker. The 7000A delivers 70W per channel into 8 ohms.

3.3.2 Analog Inputs

Connect analog source components (e.g., CD players, tuners) to the RCA inputs labeled AUX1, AUX2, or AUX3. For turntables with a Moving Magnet (MM) cartridge, use the PHONO input. Ensure your turntable is equipped with an MM cartridge for this input.

3.3.3 Digital Inputs

The 7000A features multiple digital inputs:

• Coaxial (COAX1, COAX2): For digital audio sources with coaxial output.
• Optical (OPT1, OPT2): For digital audio sources with optical output.
• HDMI ARC: Connect to your TV's HDMI ARC port for audio playback from the television.
• USB-B (PC USB): Connect to a computer for high-resolution audio playback. The 7000A integrates an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC for optimal digital audio processing.

3.3.4 Bluetooth Connectivity

The 7000A includes a Bluetooth aptX receiver for wireless audio streaming from compatible devices. Ensure the Bluetooth antenna is securely attached to the rear panel.

3.4 Power Connection

Once all audio connections are made, connect the supplied power cable to the AC IN socket on the rear panel and then to a suitable mains power outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the unit, press the power button on the front panel or the remote control. To power off, press the power button again. For complete power disconnection, use the main power switch on the rear panel.

4.2 Input Selection

Rotate the 'SEL' (Select) knob on the front panel or use the input selection buttons on the remote control to choose your desired audio source (e.g., CD, PC USB, Phono, Bluetooth).

4.3 Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the 'VOL' (Volume) knob on the front panel or the volume buttons on the remote control. The current volume level will be displayed on the screen.

4.4 Bluetooth Pairing

To pair a Bluetooth device:

1. Select the Bluetooth input on the 7000A.
2. On your mobile device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
3. Select "Audiolab 7000A" from the list to pair.
4. Once paired, audio from your device will stream to the amplifier.

4.5 Headphone Output

Connect headphones to the 6.35mm (1/4 inch) headphone jack on the front panel. Connecting headphones will mute the main speaker outputs.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the unit, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the unit is powered off and disconnected from the mains before cleaning.

5.2 Firmware Updates

Audiolab may release firmware updates to improve performance or add features. Updates can typically be performed via the USB 'UPDATE' port on the rear panel. Refer to the Audiolab website for the latest firmware and instructions.
