4.1 Front Panel

5. Setup
Follow these steps for initial setup of your Audiolab 7000CDT.
- Placement: Place the 7000CDT on a stable, level surface, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Connect to DAC/Amplifier:
- Connect either the Optical Output or the Coaxial Output from the 7000CDT to the corresponding digital input on your external Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) or integrated amplifier. Use a high-quality digital audio cable for best performance.
- Note: The 7000CDT is a CD transport only and does not have analog audio outputs. An external DAC or a digital-input amplifier is required for audio playback.
- Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cable to the AC Power Input on the rear panel of the 7000CDT, then plug the other end into a suitable mains power outlet.
- Initial Power On: Press the Power button on the front panel or the remote control to turn on the unit. The display will illuminate.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 CD Playback
- Insert CD: Gently insert a compact disc into the CD loading slot on the front panel. The unit will automatically draw the disc in.
- Automatic Playback: The unit will typically begin playing the CD automatically after loading.
- Manual Playback: If playback does not start automatically, press the Play/Pause button on the front panel or remote control.
- Controls:
- Play/Pause: Toggles between playing and pausing the current track.
- Stop: Stops playback.
- Skip Forward/Backward: Jumps to the next or previous track. Hold to fast forward/rewind within a track.
- Eject: Ejects the CD from the loading slot.
- Display: The display screen will show track number, elapsed time, and other relevant playback information.
6.2 USB Playback
The 7000CDT supports playback of digital music files from USB storage devices.
- Connect USB Device: Insert a USB flash drive or external hard drive (formatted to FAT32) into the USB Type-A port on the rear panel.
- Select USB Input: Use the menu navigation buttons on the front panel or remote to select the USB input source.
- Browse Files: The display will show the file structure of the USB device. Navigate through folders and select desired audio files (WAV, AAC, WMA, MP3).
- Start Playback: Press the Play/Pause button to begin playback of the selected file.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the unit. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
