1. Introduction

The Audiolab 7000CDT is a high-performance CD transport designed to extract the purest digital signal from your CD collection. It features a high-precision optical system and an electronic data buffer to ensure accurate and seamless playback. 4. Product Overview

4.1 Front Panel

• CD Loading Slot: For inserting and ejecting compact discs.

4.2 Rear Panel

The rear panel provides all necessary connections for power, digital audio output, and USB input for digital files.

• AC Power Input: Connects to the mains power supply.
• USB Type-A Port: For connecting USB storage devices to play digital audio files.
• Optical Output (TOSLINK): Digital audio output for connecting to a DAC or amplifier with an optical input.
• Coaxial Output (RCA): Digital audio output for connecting to a DAC or amplifier with a coaxial input.
• 12V Trigger In/Out: For synchronized power control with other compatible Audiolab components.

5. Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your Audiolab 7000CDT.

1. Placement: Place the 7000CDT on a stable, level surface, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
2. Connect to DAC/Amplifier:
   • Connect either the Optical Output or the Coaxial Output from the 7000CDT to the corresponding digital input on your external Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) or integrated amplifier. Use a high-quality digital audio cable for best performance.
   • Note: The 7000CDT is a CD transport only and does not have analog audio outputs. An external DAC or a digital-input amplifier is required for audio playback.
3. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cable to the AC Power Input on the rear panel of the 7000CDT, then plug the other end into a suitable mains power outlet.
4. Initial Power On: Press the Power button on the front panel or the remote control to turn on the unit. The display will illuminate.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 CD Playback

1. Insert CD: Gently insert a compact disc into the CD loading slot on the front panel. The unit will automatically draw the disc in.
2. Automatic Playback: The unit will typically begin playing the CD automatically after loading.
3. Manual Playback: If playback does not start automatically, press the Play/Pause button on the front panel or remote control.
4. Controls:
   • Play/Pause: Toggles between playing and pausing the current track.
   • Stop: Stops playback.
   • Skip Forward/Backward: Jumps to the next or previous track. Hold to fast forward/rewind within a track.
   • Eject: Ejects the CD from the loading slot.
5. Display: The display screen will show track number, elapsed time, and other relevant playback information.

6.2 USB Playback

The 7000CDT supports playback of digital music files from USB storage devices.

1. Connect USB Device: Insert a USB flash drive or external hard drive (formatted to FAT32) into the USB Type-A port on the rear panel.
2. Select USB Input: Use the menu navigation buttons on the front panel or remote to select the USB input source.
3. Browse Files: The display will show the file structure of the USB device. Navigate through folders and select desired audio files (WAV, AAC, WMA, MP3).
4. Start Playback: Press the Play/Pause button to begin playback of the selected file.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the unit. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
• CD Care: Handle CDs by their edges. Keep them clean and free of scratches.
• Ventilation: Periodically check that the ventilation openings are not obstructed by dust or debris.
