2. Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent accidents and damage:
- This appliance is intended for domestic use only.
- Do not vacuum flammable or explosive liquids, hot ash, or sharp objects.
- Ensure the battery is correctly inserted and fully charged before use. The battery is sold separately.
- Do not operate the appliance without the filter installed.
- Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the appliance during operation.
- Disconnect the battery before cleaning, maintenance, or when changing accessories.
3. Included Components
Your Kärcher WD 3-18 package includes the following items:
- Kärcher Battery Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner WD 3-18 unit
- Suction hose (2 meters)
- 2 Suction tubes
- Clip-on floor nozzle (wet & dry suction nozzle)
- Crevice nozzle
- One-piece cartridge filter
- Fleece filter bag
Note: The 18 V Kärcher Battery Power battery and charger are not included and must be purchased separately.
4. Setup
4.1 Assembly
- Attach the Castors: Insert the four castors into the designated slots on the base of the vacuum cleaner until they click into place.
- Connect the Suction Hose: Insert the end of the suction hose into the suction connection on the front of the vacuum cleaner until it locks securely. For the blowing function, insert the hose into the blowing connection at the rear.
- Assemble Suction Tubes and Nozzle: Connect the two suction tubes together. Attach the desired nozzle (floor nozzle or crevice nozzle) to the end of the suction tube. Then, connect the assembled tube to the handle of the suction hose.

4.2 Filter and Filter Bag Installation
- Open the Container: Release the two locking clips on the side of the vacuum cleaner and lift off the motor head.
- Install Cartridge Filter: Place the one-piece cartridge filter onto the filter cage on the motor head. Ensure it is seated firmly. This filter is suitable for both wet and dry vacuuming.
- Install Fleece Filter Bag (for dry vacuuming): For dry vacuuming, slide the fleece filter bag over the suction connection inside the container. Ensure the opening of the bag is fully secured around the connection.
- Close the Container: Place the motor head back onto the container and secure the locking clips.
4.3 Battery Insertion
The WD 3-18 operates with an 18 V Kärcher Battery Power battery (sold separately).
- Ensure the battery is charged.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the top of the motor head.
- Slide the 18 V Kärcher Battery Power battery into the compartment until it clicks into place.
- Close the battery compartment cover.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
Press the power button located on the top of the motor head to switch the vacuum cleaner on or off.
5.2 Dry Vacuuming
For dry dirt, ensure the fleece filter bag is installed in addition to the cartridge filter. Use the appropriate nozzle for the surface. The floor nozzle is suitable for larger areas, while the crevice nozzle is ideal for tight spaces like car interiors.

5.3 Wet Vacuuming
The one-piece cartridge filter allows for wet vacuuming without needing to change the filter. Remove the fleece filter bag before wet vacuuming to prevent it from getting soaked. The appliance will automatically switch off when the maximum liquid level is reached in the container.

5.4 Blowing Function
To use the blowing function, detach the suction hose from the front suction connection and insert it into the blowing connection located at the rear of the motor head. This function is useful for removing leaves or loose dirt from surfaces that cannot be vacuumed.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Emptying the Container
After use, especially after wet vacuuming, empty the container. Release the locking clips, lift off the motor head, and carefully pour out the contents. Clean the container with water if necessary.
6.2 Cleaning the Cartridge Filter
Regularly clean the cartridge filter to maintain optimal suction performance. Remove the filter from the motor head and tap out any loose dirt. For thorough cleaning, rinse the filter under running water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstallation.
6.3 Cleaning Accessories
Clean the suction hose, tubes, and nozzles as needed. Remove any blockages and rinse with water. Ensure all parts are dry before storing.
