4.3. Wiring Connections
- Connect the camera's 5-pin cable to the 20 ft extension harness.
- Route the extension harness from the camera location to the front of the vehicle where your monitor or head unit is located. Ensure the cable is routed safely, away from moving parts, heat sources, and sharp edges.
- Connect the universal RCA video connector from the extension harness to the video input of your monitor or head unit.
- Connect the power wire (red) from the camera's power harness to a 12V switched power source that activates when the vehicle is in reverse (e.g., reverse light circuit). Connect the ground wire (black) to a suitable chassis ground point.
- Optional: Selectable Parking Lines: The camera features selectable parking lines. To enable or disable these lines, refer to the specific instructions provided with your camera, which typically involves cutting or leaving intact a small wire loop (often blue or white) near the camera's wiring harness. Perform this step before final installation and sealing of wires.
- Optional: Selectable Mirror Mode: If you intend to mount the camera facing forward or require a non-mirrored image, consult the specific instructions for enabling/disabling mirror mode, which also typically involves cutting a wire loop.

- Parking Lines: If enabled during installation, static parking guide lines will overlay the camera image, assisting you in judging distance and alignment.
- Night Vision: The integrated infrared LEDs will automatically activate in low-light conditions, providing improved visibility during nighttime reversing.
Always check your surroundings visually in addition to using the camera display. The camera is an aid and does not replace safe driving practices.
6. Maintenance
The EchoMaster backup camera is designed for durability and minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning the Lens: Periodically clean the camera lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or water spots that may obstruct the view. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Inspect Wiring: Occasionally check the wiring and connections for any signs of wear, fraying, or corrosion, especially after off-road use.
- Bracket Security: Ensure the mounting bracket remains securely fastened to the spare tire carrier. Tighten any loose screws as needed.
The IP67 rating ensures the camera is highly resistant to water and dust ingress, making it suitable for various environmental conditions.
