The safe requires 4 AA batteries (included). Locate the battery compartment, typically on the inside of the safe door. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The LED screen should illuminate upon successful installation.

Mounting the Safe

The Ozone Fort Safe AB-66 is designed for floor mounting and comes with pre-drilled holes for easy installation. For optimal security, it is highly recommended to bolt the safe to a solid surface.

  1. Choose a secure and discreet location for the safe.
  2. Open the safe door and locate the pre-drilled holes on the bottom or back panel.
  3. Position the safe and mark the drilling points on the floor or wall using a pencil.
  4. Move the safe and drill pilot holes at the marked locations using an appropriate drill bit for your surface (concrete, wood, etc.).
  5. Reposition the safe over the drilled holes.
  6. Secure the safe using appropriate anchor bolts (not included, as type depends on mounting surface) through the pre-drilled holes. Tighten all bolts securely.

Initial Setup and Opening

Upon first use, the safe can be opened using the emergency key. Insert the emergency key into the keyhole, turn it, and simultaneously rotate the five-spoke handle to open the door.

Setting the Master Password

  1. With the door open, press the internal reset button (usually a small red button located near the hinge).
  2. The LED screen will display "PROG" or similar, indicating it's ready for programming.
  3. Enter your desired 4-8 digit master password on the keypad.
  4. Press the "#" or "ENTER" button to confirm. The screen will display "GOOD" or "SUCCESS".
  5. Test the new master password with the door open before closing it.

Setting User Passwords

The safe supports multiple user passwords. Follow a similar procedure as setting the master password, but typically there's a specific sequence or button to initiate user password programming (refer to the on-screen prompts or a dedicated user password button if available).

Registering Fingerprints

The safe can store up to 50 fingerprints. The process usually involves:

  1. Press the fingerprint registration button (if available) or enter a specific code on the keypad to enter fingerprint programming mode.
  2. Place the desired finger on the fingerprint scanner. You may be prompted to lift and place the finger multiple times from different angles to ensure accurate registration.
  3. The screen will confirm successful registration. Repeat for additional fingerprints.

Closing and Locking the Safe

Close the safe door firmly. Rotate the five-spoke handle counter-clockwise until the bolts are fully extended and the door is securely locked. The safe will automatically lock once the handle is turned.

When the low battery indicator appears on the LED screen, replace all 4 AA batteries promptly. Use high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
