3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your USB C Docking Station:

  1. Verify Laptop's USB-C Port: Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) and/or power delivery. The docking station requires a Thunderbolt 3/4 or a full-featured USB-C port. If your USB-C port only supports data or charging, video output will not function.

  2. Connect to Laptop: Plug the USB-C connector of the docking station into a compatible USB-C port on your laptop.
  3. Connect External Monitors: Use HDMI cables to connect your monitors to the HDMI ports on the docking station.
  4. Connect Power Adapter (Optional but Recommended): For optimal performance and to charge your laptop, connect your laptop's original USB-C power adapter to the PD (Power Delivery) port on the docking station. A 100W PD charger and USB-C to C cable are required to achieve 85W charging output.

  5. Connect Peripherals: Plug in your USB devices (mouse, keyboard, external hard drive) into the USB-A 3.0 ports. Insert SD or TF cards into the corresponding slots for data access.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Display Modes

The docking station supports different display modes depending on your operating system:

For Windows Laptops (MST Mode)

Windows laptops support Multi-Stream Transport (MST) mode, allowing you to extend your desktop across two external monitors, or mirror your display.

To configure display settings on Windows:

  • Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings".
  • Under "Multiple displays", choose your preferred option (e.g., "Extend these displays" or "Duplicate these displays").

For macOS Laptops (SST/Mirror Mode Only)

Due to macOS system limitations, this docking station only supports Single-Stream Transport (SST) or Mirror Mode. This means both external monitors will display the same content, which can either mirror your MacBook's display or extend it as a single, duplicated external display.

To configure display settings on macOS:

  • Go to "System Settings" (or "System Preferences") > "Displays".
  • Select "Arrangement" to configure your displays. You will see options for mirroring.

4.2 Data Transfer

The USB 3.0 ports (Type-A and Type-C) and the SD/TF card slots allow for high-speed data transfer. Simply plug in your USB devices or insert your memory cards to access and transfer files.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the device. Avoid liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the docking station in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself.
  • Port Care: Ensure cables are inserted and removed gently to prevent damage to the ports.
