6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Geeni HD Hawk 2 camera, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or water spots. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Weatherproofing: While the camera is IP66 weatherproof, ensure its mounting location provides some protection from direct, prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions like heavy hail or direct water jets, if possible. Regularly check the mounting for stability.
- Power Cable: Inspect the power cable for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure it is securely connected and protected from physical stress.
- Software Updates: Keep the Geeni app updated to the latest version to benefit from new features, performance improvements, and security patches. The app will usually notify you of available updates.
- SD Card Management: If using a MicroSD card for local storage, periodically check its status in the app and format it as needed to maintain recording efficiency.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Geeni HD Hawk 2 camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
7.1. Camera is Offline or Cannot Connect
- Check Wi-Fi: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and the camera is within range of your 2.4GHz router.
- Power Cycle: Unplug the camera's power adapter, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.
- Router Reboot: Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
- Re-pair Device: If the issue persists, remove the device from the Geeni app and attempt to re-pair it following the setup instructions.
- Wi-Fi Password Change: If you changed your Wi-Fi password, you will need to re-pair the camera with the new credentials.
7.2. Poor Video Quality or Blurry Night Vision
- Clean Lens: Ensure the camera lens is clean and free of dirt, dust, or smudges.
- Network Speed: A slow Wi-Fi connection can affect video streaming quality. Ensure adequate bandwidth.
- Night Vision Range: The night vision has a range of approximately 20 feet. Objects beyond this range may appear less clear. Consider adding external lighting for better night visibility in larger areas.
7.3. Motion Detection is Too Sensitive or Not Detecting
- Adjust Sensitivity: In the Geeni app settings for your camera, adjust the motion detection sensitivity level. Lowering it can reduce false alerts from minor movements like leaves or small animals.
- Detection Zones: Some cameras allow setting specific motion detection zones. Configure these to focus on critical areas and ignore irrelevant ones.
- Obstructions: Ensure there are no physical obstructions blocking the camera's view or interfering with the motion sensor.
