2. Safety Instructions

  • Do not expose the unit to rain or moisture to prevent fire or electric shock.
  • Do not open the speaker cabinet. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the unit. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Place the unit on a stable, flat surface to prevent it from falling.

4. Product Overview

The ZEBRONICS Basso 100 is a 5.1 channel home theater speaker system designed to deliver immersive audio. It features a central subwoofer unit and five satellite speakers.

4.1. Components

  • Subwoofer: The main unit housing the 5.25-inch woofer, amplifier, control panel, and connectivity ports. It provides 30W RMS output.
  • Satellite Speakers: Five compact speakers, each providing 12W RMS output, designed for surround sound placement.

4.2. Front Panel Controls and Display

The front panel of the subwoofer features a master volume knob, an LED display, and media control buttons. The master volume knob is encircled by an RGB ring light.

4.3. Rear Panel Connections

The rear panel includes audio input and output ports, a power switch, and an FM antenna port.

5. Setup

5.1. Speaker Placement

  • Subwoofer: Place the subwoofer on the floor, preferably near the center of your listening area or near a wall for enhanced bass response.
  • Front Satellite Speakers (FL, FR): Position these to the left and right of your TV or primary listening position, facing towards you.
  • Center Satellite Speaker (CN): Place this directly above or below your TV, centered with the screen.
  • Surround Satellite Speakers (SL, SR): Position these to the sides or slightly behind your listening position, at ear level. The satellite speakers are wall-mountable for flexible placement.

5.2. Connections

Ensure the system is powered off before making any connections.

  1. Connect Satellite Speakers: Connect the five satellite speakers to the corresponding audio output ports on the rear panel of the subwoofer (FL, FR, SL, SR, CN). Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Connect Audio Source:
    • AUX Input: Use the provided input cable to connect your audio source (e.g., TV, PC, smartphone) to the AUX input ports on the subwoofer.
    • AC-3 (5.1 Input): For true 5.1 surround sound from compatible devices (e.g., DVD player, set-top box), connect the individual audio channels (FL, FR, SL, SR, CN, SW) from your source to the DVD/AUDIO INPUT ports on the subwoofer.
  3. Connect FM Antenna: Insert the FM cable into the FM ANT port for radio reception.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the AC 220-240V 50/60Hz inlet on the subwoofer, then plug the other end into a wall outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

Flip the power switch on the rear panel of the subwoofer to the 'ON' position. The LED display will light up.

6.2. Input Mode Selection

Press the 'MODE' button on the front panel or remote control to cycle through available input modes: Bluetooth (BT), USB, AUX, FM, and AC-3 (5.1 Input).

6.3. Bluetooth Operation

  1. Switch the speaker system to Bluetooth mode. The LED display will show 'BT' and blink, indicating pairing mode.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and search for 'ZEB-BASSO 100'.
  3. Select the device to pair. Once connected, the 'BT' indicator will stop blinking.

6.4. USB Playback

Insert a USB pendrive (up to 32GB) containing MP3 audio files into the USB port on the subwoofer. The system will automatically switch to USB mode and begin playback.

6.5. FM Radio

In FM mode, press the 'PLAY/PAUSE' button on the remote or front panel to auto-scan and save available radio stations. Use the 'PREV/NEXT' buttons to navigate through saved stations.

6.6. Volume and Tone Control

  • Master Volume: Adjust using the large knob on the front panel or the 'VOL+/-' buttons on the remote.
  • Bass/Treble Control: Use the dedicated knob (MFB) on the front panel or remote to adjust bass and treble levels.
  • Individual Speaker Volume: The remote control allows for individual volume adjustment of each satellite speaker and the subwoofer in 5.1 mode.

6.7. Remote Control

The included remote control provides full functionality for power, mode selection, volume, track control, and individual speaker adjustments.

6.8. RGB Ring Light

The subwoofer features an RGB ring light around the master volume knob. This light can be controlled via the remote control.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the speakers. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings on the subwoofer are not blocked to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: If storing the system for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.
