1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Nolan N30-4 VP Classic Jet Helmet. This manual provides essential information for the correct use, maintenance, and care of your helmet. Please read it thoroughly before using the helmet to ensure your safety and to maximize the product's lifespan.

The Nolan N30-4 VP Classic is a high-quality jet helmet designed for urban and touring use, offering comfort, protection, and excellent ventilation. It complies with ECE safety standards.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Always wear a helmet that fits correctly and is securely fastened. An improperly fitted or unfastened helmet can come off in an accident, offering no protection. Never modify your helmet in any way, as this can compromise its protective capabilities.

  • Ensure the helmet fits snugly and comfortably, without excessive pressure points.
  • Always fasten the retention system (chin strap) securely before riding.
  • Never use a helmet that has been involved in an impact, even if there is no visible damage. The protective structure may be compromised.
  • Avoid exposing the helmet to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals.
  • The visor provides protection against wind and debris. Ensure it is clean and free from scratches that could impair vision.

4. Setup

4.1. Fitting the Helmet

A proper fit is crucial for safety. To check the fit:

  1. Place the helmet on your head. It should feel snug all around, with even pressure.
  2. The top of the eye port should be just above your eyebrows.
  3. With the chin strap unfastened, try to rotate the helmet from side to side and front to back. Your skin should move with the helmet, not the helmet sliding independently.
  4. Fasten the chin strap securely. It should be tight enough that you cannot pull the helmet off your head by rolling it forward or backward.

4.2. Visor Installation/Removal (if applicable)

The N30-4 VP Classic features an easily removable visor system. Refer to the markings on the visor mechanism for specific instructions. Typically, a small lever or button needs to be pressed to release the visor from its pivot points. Align the visor tabs with the helmet's slots and press firmly until it clicks into place for installation.

5. Operating

5.1. Fastening the Retention System

The helmet is equipped with a Microlock2 retention system. To fasten:

  1. Insert the toothed tab into the buckle until you hear clicks.
  2. Pull the strap to ensure it is securely locked and snug under your chin.

To release: Lift the red lever on the buckle and pull the toothed tab out.

5.2. Ventilation System

The N30-4 VP Classic features an advanced ventilation system. Locate the adjustable vents on the top and rear of the helmet. Slide the levers or open/close the covers to regulate airflow according to your preference and riding conditions.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Outer Shell

Use a soft cloth and mild soap with lukewarm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or petroleum-based products, as these can damage the helmet's finish and materials.

6.2. Cleaning the Visor

Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners.

6.3. Cleaning the Interior Padding

The comfort padding is removable and washable. Hand wash in cold water with mild soap. Air dry completely before reinserting into the helmet. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

6.4. Storage

Store your helmet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches.
