1. Product Overview

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your TS-1 Thermostat Station.

4.1 Mounting the TS-1

  1. Choose a suitable location for the TS-1, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts, which could affect temperature readings.
  2. Secure the TS-1 to a wall or flat surface using appropriate screws through the designated mounting holes.

4.2 Wiring to HVAC System

The TS-1 connects to your conventional cool-only HVAC system using standard thermostat wiring.

  1. R (Power): Connect to the 24VAC common wire from your HVAC transformer.
  2. W (Heat): Not used for cool-only systems. Ensure this terminal is not connected.
  3. Y (Cool): Connect to the cooling call wire from your HVAC system.
  4. G (Fan): Connect to the fan control wire from your HVAC system.

Important: Always turn off power to your HVAC system at the circuit breaker before performing any wiring. If you are unsure about wiring, consult a qualified electrician or HVAC technician.

4.3 Connecting to Hydro-X Control System

The TS-1 connects to your Hydro-X Control System via a standard RJ12 cable.

  1. Connect one end of the RJ12 cable to the port labeled 'Addressing' on the TS-1.
  2. Connect the other end of the RJ12 cable to an available device port on your Hydro-X Control System.
  3. Once connected, the Hydro-X system should automatically detect the TS-1.

5. Operating Instructions

The TS-1 operates in conjunction with your Hydro-X Control System. Basic settings can be viewed and adjusted directly on the TS-1 unit.

5.1 Display Information

The TS-1 display provides the following information:

  • Setpoint: The desired temperature you have set.
  • Current: The current ambient temperature detected by the TS-1.
  • Cool On/Off: Indicates if the cooling system is currently active.
  • Fan: Indicates the status of the fan (On/Auto).

5.2 Adjusting Setpoint Temperature

Use the up/down arrow buttons next to the display to adjust the desired temperature setpoint. The Hydro-X system will then manage the cooling system to maintain this temperature.

5.3 Fan Control

Press the 'FAN' button to cycle through fan modes (e.g., Auto, On). Refer to your Hydro-X Control System manual for detailed fan operation settings.

6. Maintenance

The TS-1 Thermostat Station requires minimal maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation slots on the unit are not obstructed to allow for proper airflow and accurate temperature sensing.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TS-1 Thermostat Station, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
