- Power Connection: Connect the machine to a 120V power outlet.
- Initial Heat-up: Turn on the machine. The PID display will show the current temperature. Allow at least 30 minutes for the machine and portafilter to fully heat up for optimal performance.
4. Operation
4.1 Brewing Espresso
- Prepare Portafilter: Select the desired filter basket (single or double shot). Grind fresh coffee beans to an appropriate fineness for espresso. Fill the basket with the ground coffee.
- Tamp Coffee: Use the included stainless steel tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the basket.
- Insert Portafilter: Securely lock the portafilter into the group head.
- Place Cup: Position your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts.
- Start Brewing: Press the single or double shot button. The machine will initiate a pre-infusion cycle followed by the espresso extraction. Monitor the pressure gauge for optimal extraction (typically 9-10 bars).

4.2 Steaming Milk
- Activate Steam: Turn the steam switch to the 'on' position. Allow the steam wand to purge any residual water until only steam is released.
- Position Wand: Immerse the tip of the no-burn steam wand just below the surface of cold milk in a frothing pitcher.
- Steam Milk: Open the steam valve fully. Keep the steam wand positioned to create a vortex in the milk, incorporating air for frothing. Continue until the desired temperature and texture are achieved.
- Clean Wand: Immediately after steaming, close the steam valve and wipe the steam wand clean with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue buildup.

5. Maintenance
- Drip Tray: Regularly empty and clean the generous drip tray. The internal fins help prevent splashing when removing a full tray.
- Group Head: Perform backflushing with the blank basket to clean the group head and remove coffee oils.
- Water Tank: Clean the water tank periodically to prevent mineral buildup.
- Descaling: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for descaling the machine to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Ascaso Dream PID, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- No Water Flow: Check if the water tank is full and properly seated. Ensure the water filter is not clogged.
- No Steam: Verify the machine is in steam mode and has reached the correct temperature. Purge the steam wand to clear any blockages.
- Poor Espresso Extraction: Adjust grind size (finer for faster extraction, coarser for slower). Check tamping pressure. Ensure the portafilter is clean and free of old coffee grounds.
- Temperature Inconsistency: Allow sufficient time for the machine to fully heat up (at least 30 minutes). Ensure the PID settings are correctly configured.
