4.2 Key Features

  • Large, easy-to-read color LCD display.
  • Wireless outdoor sensor with up to 100m (328ft) transmission range in open areas.
  • Measures indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity.
  • DCF radio-controlled atomic clock for precise time synchronization.
  • Weather forecast with various icons (sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, snowy).
  • Barometric pressure display and history.
  • Moon phase and tide display.
  • Dual alarms with customizable snooze (5-60 minutes).
  • USB charging port for external devices.

5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Main Unit and Sensor

  1. Insert 3 AAA batteries (not included) into the outdoor sensor, observing polarity.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the main unit and plug it into a power outlet. The display will light up.
  3. Important Note: For initial setup and accurate readings, place the main unit and the outdoor sensor side-by-side for at least 1 hour. This allows them to synchronize and stabilize temperature/humidity readings. Allow a few days for the weather station to learn and provide more accurate forecasts.

5.2 Sensor Placement and Channel Selection

The weather station supports up to 3 outdoor sensors (one included). Ensure the sensor is placed in a shaded, dry location away from direct sunlight and rain for accurate temperature readings.

Figure 5.1: The weather station supports up to three wireless channels for outdoor sensors, allowing monitoring of different locations. The image illustrates the wireless transmission range and how to select channels.

  1. On the outdoor sensor, select a channel (1, 2, or 3) using the channel switch.
  2. On the main unit, press the "CHANNEL" or "DOWN" button (refer to button layout in section 4.1) to cycle through channels or select a specific channel to pair with your sensor. The main unit will automatically search for the sensor signal.

5.3 Mounting Options

The main unit can be placed on a tabletop using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Time and Date Setting (Atomic Clock)

The weather station features a DCF radio-controlled atomic clock that automatically synchronizes with the atomic time signal for precise timekeeping. This function is primarily for regions that receive the WWVB signal (e.g., parts of Europe for DCF, North America for WWVB).

Figure 6.1: The weather station's atomic clock function, which automatically sets the time via radio signal (e.g., WWVB in North America, DCF in Europe). Time zones are adjustable.

If the signal is weak or unavailable, you can manually set the time and date. Refer to the specific button functions on your device (usually a "SET" or "MODE" button) to enter time setting mode.

6.2 Alarm Settings

The weather station includes dual alarms, allowing you to set two separate wake-up times with a customizable snooze function.

Dual alarms with customizable snooze function

Figure 6.2: The weather station offers dual alarms with a snooze duration adjustable from 5 to 60 minutes, providing flexibility for daily routines.

  1. Press the "ALARM" button to view or set Alarm 1. Press again for Alarm 2.
  2. While viewing an alarm, press and hold "ALARM" to enter setting mode. Use "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to adjust hours and minutes.
  3. Press "ALARM" to confirm each setting.
  4. To activate/deactivate an alarm, press the "ALARM" button repeatedly until the alarm icon appears/disappears.
  5. To set snooze duration, enter alarm setting mode and adjust the snooze time.

6.3 Understanding Weather Forecast Icons

The weather station predicts weather conditions for the next 12-24 hours based on barometric pressure changes. The forecast icons are:

Weather forecast icons: sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy, snowy

Figure 6.3: Visual representations of various weather conditions displayed on the station, including sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy, and snowy.

  • Sunny: Clear skies.
  • Partly Cloudy: Some clouds, but mostly clear.
  • Cloudy: Overcast skies.
  • Rainy: Precipitation expected.
  • Stormy: Thunderstorms or heavy rain.
  • Snowy: Snowfall expected.

6.4 Comfort Level Indicator

The display shows a comfort level indicator based on indoor temperature and humidity, helping you maintain an optimal indoor environment.

7. Maintenance

  • Clean the display and unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Replace batteries in the outdoor sensor annually or when the low battery indicator appears.
  • Ensure the outdoor sensor is free from debris and obstructions.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No display on main unit.Power adapter not connected or faulty.Check power connection. Try a different outlet.
Outdoor temperature/humidity not displayed or inaccurate.Sensor out of range, low battery, or interference.
  • Ensure sensor is within 100m of main unit.
  • Replace sensor batteries.
  • Relocate sensor or main unit to reduce interference.
  • Re-synchronize sensor by pressing the "CHANNEL" button on the main unit.
Atomic clock not synchronizing.Weak signal, interference, or incorrect time zone.
  • Place unit near a window.
  • Avoid electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Manually set time if automatic synchronization fails.
Inaccurate weather forecast.Weather station still learning, or rapid pressure changes.Allow a few days for the station to calibrate. Forecasts are based on barometric pressure trends, not real-time conditions.
