2. Important Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

General Safety

• Read all instructions before using this fireplace.
• Do not operate any fireplace with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater has malfunctioned, been dropped, or damaged in any manner.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Avoid placing the power cord under carpeting, throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.
• To disconnect the fireplace, turn controls to OFF, then remove the plug from the outlet.
• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the fireplace.
• Use this fireplace only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

Electrical Safety

• Ensure the power supply voltage matches the rating label on the fireplace.
• This fireplace is for use on 120 Volts. The cord has a plug as shown in Figure A. An adapter as shown in Figure C is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available.
• To prevent a possible electrical shock, do not immerse the fireplace in water or other liquids.

The Modern Ember Highmark fireplace offers two installation options: wall-mounted or fully recessed.

5.1 Choosing a Location

• Select a location that is not susceptible to moisture and is away from drapes, furniture, and high-traffic areas.
• Ensure there is a grounded 120V AC outlet nearby.
• Maintain adequate clearance from combustible materials.

5.2 Wall-Mounted Installation

1. Carefully remove the front glass panel from the fireplace unit.
2. Mark the desired mounting height on the wall. Ensure the location allows for proper stud attachment.
3. Attach the mounting bracket (if separate) or use the integrated mounting points on the fireplace to secure it to wall studs using the provided screws. If studs are not available, use appropriate wall anchors.
4. Once securely mounted, place the chosen ember bed media (driftwood logs, smoky crystals, or clear crystals) into the designated area.
5. Reattach the front glass panel.
6. Plug the fireplace into a grounded 120V AC outlet.

5.3 Recessed In-Wall Installation

1. Consult a qualified electrician and contractor for recessed installation to ensure proper framing and electrical wiring.
2. Construct a framed opening in the wall according to the fireplace dimensions (refer to specifications for exact measurements). Ensure the opening is slightly larger than the fireplace unit for easy insertion.
3. Run a dedicated 120V AC electrical circuit to the framed opening. The fireplace can be hard-wired or plugged into a recessed outlet.
4. Carefully slide the fireplace unit into the framed opening.
5. Secure the fireplace to the framing using appropriate screws through the designated mounting points.

1. Download the free Tuya Smart app from your device's app store.

4. To enable voice control, link the Tuya Smart app with your Alexa or Google Assistant account through their respective apps.
