Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective grilling.
- Charcoal Loading: Place charcoal briquettes or lump charcoal onto the charcoal grate. The adjustable charcoal tray allows for control over heat intensity by raising or lowering the charcoal.
- Lighting Charcoal: Use a charcoal chimney starter or appropriate fire starters to ignite the charcoal. Allow charcoal to ash over before placing food on the cooking grate.
- Temperature Control: The grill is equipped with adjustable air vents on the lid and bottom, and a lid-mounted thermometer. Adjust these vents to regulate airflow and maintain desired cooking temperature. Opening vents increases temperature, closing them reduces it.
- Cooking: Place food on the steel wire cooking grate. Utilize the warming rack to keep cooked items warm while other foods finish. The total cooking area is approximately 347.5 square inches.
- Lid Use: Keep the lid on during cooking to maintain consistent temperature and infuse smoky flavor. The lid-mounted thermometer provides real-time temperature readings.
