3. Setup
3.1 Assembly
- Attach the 11" X35 coil to the S-Telescopic Stem.
- Ensure the WS4 headphones are charged.
- Power on the WS4 headphones and the detector coil. The components will automatically establish a wireless connection.
3.2 Initial Power-Up and Pairing
The XP Deus system is designed for quick setup. The coil and WS4 headphones communicate wirelessly. Upon powering on both units, they should automatically pair. If pairing issues occur, refer to the troubleshooting section.

4. Operating Instructions
The WS4 headphones serve as the primary control interface for the XP Deus Lite configuration. All essential settings can be adjusted directly from the headphone module.
4.1 Menu Navigation and Settings
The WS4 headphones feature a simple interface with 'Menu', '+', and '-' buttons. Pressing the 'Menu' button cycles through main settings. Holding the 'Menu' button accesses advanced features within each setting.
- Discrimination: Adjust the level of iron rejection. Hold 'Menu' to access Reactivity (0-5). Higher reactivity is suitable for trashy areas.
- Sensitivity: Controls the detector's depth and stability. Hold 'Menu' to access TX Power (1-3). TX Power boosts overall signal strength, useful in quiet ground conditions.
- Ground Balance: Automatically or manually adjust to ground conditions. Hold 'Menu' to activate Ground Balance Tracking mode.
- Frequency: Select from 35 frequencies (3.7 to 27.7 kHz) using '+' and '-'. Hold 'Menu' to access Frequency Offset for interference reduction.
- Tones: Adjust audio tones. Hold 'Menu' to modify Iron Volume, allowing you to quieten or amplify the low iron tone.
- Volume: Adjust headphone volume. Hold 'Menu' to access Audio Response, which affects how deep and shallow targets sound.
- Coil Selection: To add or select a coil, navigate to the 'Coil' menu. Use '+' and '-' to select an empty slot, then hold '+' until numbers flash. Enter the coil's serial number using '+' and '-' to change digits and 'Menu' to move to the next digit. Press 'Menu' to save.
- Custom Programs: To save a custom program, adjust your desired settings, then navigate to the 'Programs' menu. Select an empty program slot (e.g., 11-15). Hold the '+' button until it flashes, then press 'Menu' to save.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: The 11" X35 coil is waterproof and can be rinsed with fresh water. The WS4 headphones are shower-proof; avoid full submersion. Wipe down the stem and control module with a damp cloth.
- Battery Care: Charge batteries regularly. Avoid fully depleting the battery to prolong its lifespan.
- Storage: Store the detector in a dry, cool place. The S-Telescopic Stem collapses for compact storage.

6. Troubleshooting
- No Signal/Intermittent Signal:
- Ensure both the coil and WS4 headphones are fully charged and powered on.
- Check that the coil and headphones are properly paired (refer to Section 4.1 for coil selection/pairing).
- Adjust the Frequency Offset in the menu to avoid electromagnetic interference (EMI).
- Difficulty with Ground Balance:
- Ensure you are performing ground balance correctly as per the operating instructions.
- Try adjusting the Reactivity setting; a lower reactivity might help in highly mineralized ground.
- False Signals/Chatter:
- Lower the Sensitivity setting.
- Increase the Reactivity setting, especially in areas with high trash density.
- Perform a fresh Ground Balance.
- Weak Target Signals:
- Increase the Sensitivity setting.
- Consider increasing TX Power if operating in quiet ground conditions.
- Ensure the coil is swept consistently and close to the ground.
