Introduction
The Shure GLXD16+ Dual Band Pro Digital Wireless System provides reliable and high-fidelity wireless audio for guitar and bass. This system operates in both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands, offering enhanced signal stability and interference avoidance. Designed for ease of use, it features automatic frequency management, smart rechargeable batteries, and a robust pedal receiver with an integrated tuner. This manual provides essential instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your GLXD16+ system.
What's in the Box
Verify that all components are present in your package:
- GLXD6+ Guitar Pedal Receiver
- GLXD1+ Bodypack Transmitter
- WA305 Instrument (Guitar) Cable
- SB904 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery
- PS24US Power Supply
- USB-C Charging Cable
- User Guide (this document)

Setup
- Charge the Battery: Insert the SB904 lithium-ion rechargeable battery into the GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter. Connect the USB-C charging cable to the bodypack and a power source (e.g., PS24US power supply or a computer USB port). A full charge provides up to 12 hours of operation.
- Connect the Receiver: Place the GLXD6+ guitar pedal receiver on your pedalboard. Connect the PS24US power supply to the receiver's power input. Connect the receiver's output to your amplifier or other pedals using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
- Connect the Transmitter: Plug one end of the WA305 instrument cable into your guitar or bass, and the other end into the GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter. Secure the bodypack to your instrument strap or belt.
- Power On: Turn on the GLXD6+ receiver and the GLXD1+ transmitter. The system will automatically scan for the clearest frequency and link the transmitter and receiver.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
To power on the receiver, press the power button. To power on the transmitter, press and hold its power button. The system will automatically link. To power off, press and hold the respective power buttons.
Automatic Frequency Management
The GLXD16+ system continuously monitors both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands to identify and select the clearest available channel. This automatic process ensures reliable signal transmission and minimizes interference. No manual frequency selection is typically required.
Integrated Tuner
The GLXD6+ pedal receiver features a built-in guitar tuner. Engage the tuner by pressing the footswitch. The display will show tuning information. When the tuner is active, the audio output is muted, allowing for silent tuning.

Battery Life and Charging
The SB904 battery provides up to 12 hours of continuous use. The battery status is displayed on both the transmitter and receiver. For quick charging, a 15-minute charge can provide approximately 1.5 hours of use. The battery can be charged while in the bodypack transmitter via USB-C, or directly in the receiver's charging port (if applicable to the specific receiver model, though for GLXD16+ the bodypack charges via USB-C).

Maintenance
- Battery Care: To maximize battery lifespan, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Store the battery at room temperature.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the receiver and transmitter. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the system in a dry, cool environment. Remove the battery from the transmitter if storing for several months.
Troubleshooting
- No Audio Output:
- Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered on and linked.
- Check battery levels on both units.
- Verify all cables are securely connected.
- Confirm the receiver's tuner is not engaged (which mutes the output).
- Ensure the amplifier or mixer input is active and volume is up.
- Signal Dropouts or Interference:
- The system automatically manages frequencies. If interference occurs, try moving the receiver to a different location to improve line-of-sight with the transmitter.
- Avoid placing the receiver near other wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, other 2.4/5.8 GHz devices) or large metal objects.
- Ensure the transmitter and receiver are within the specified operating range (up to 100 ft / 30 m).
- Transmitter Not Linking:
- Power cycle both the transmitter and receiver.
- Ensure the battery in the transmitter is charged.
- If issues persist, consult the full Shure user guide for manual linking procedures if available.
- Compatibility: Note that GLX-D+ Dual Band transmitters and receivers are not compatible with previous GLX-D or GLX-D Advanced Wireless systems.
