This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Elite Gourmet EC922 12-Cup Electric Coffee Percolator. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain for future reference.
Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including:
- Read all instructions.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the percolator base in water or other liquid.

Setup
Before First Use:
- Wash the percolator body, lid, percolating tube, filter basket, and filter basket cover in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the power base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the power base in water.
- Perform a trial run by filling the percolator with water to the maximum level and running a brew cycle without coffee grounds. Discard the water.
Assembly:
- Place the percolating tube into the center well of the percolator body. Ensure it is seated correctly.
- Place the filter basket onto the percolating tube.
- Add coffee grounds to the filter basket.
- Place the filter basket cover on top of the filter basket.
- Secure the lid onto the percolator body.

Operating Instructions
- Fill with Water: Remove the lid, filter basket, and percolating tube. Fill the percolator body with cold water to the desired level, using the internal measurement markings (4-12 cups). Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Place the percolating tube back into the percolator. Add the filter basket and then the desired amount of coarse ground coffee into the filter basket. For best results, use coarse grounds to prevent sediment.
- Assemble: Place the filter basket cover on top of the filter basket, then securely place the lid with the glass knob onto the percolator body.
- Connect Power: Place the percolator onto its power base. Plug the removable power cord into the percolator's base, then into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
- Start Brewing: Press the illuminated On/Off switch on the side of the base. The indicator light will turn green, signifying the brewing process has started.
- Monitor Progress: Observe the brewing cycle through the clear glass brew progress knob on the lid. Coffee will bubble up through the knob.
- Keep Warm: Once brewing is complete, the percolator will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function, and the indicator light will turn red. The coffee will remain warm for up to 6 hours.
- Serve: For cord-free serving, simply unplug the cord from the base. The cool-touch handle ensures safe pouring. After serving, plug the cord back into the base to resume the "Keep Warm" function if desired.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the percolator and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the lid, filter basket cover, filter basket, and percolating tube.
- These stainless steel parts are dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning.
- The percolator body is Hand Wash Only. Wash the interior and exterior of the body with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots.
- Wipe the power base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the power base in water.
Descaling:
Over time, mineral deposits from water can build up inside the percolator. To descale:
- Fill the percolator with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar.
- Run a brew cycle without coffee grounds.
- Discard the solution and rinse the percolator thoroughly with clean water several times.
- Repeat if necessary.
