Introduction

The Portronics Toad II is a versatile dual-mode wireless mouse designed for seamless connectivity and comfortable use across various devices. It supports both 2.4 GHz wireless via a USB nano dongle and Bluetooth 5.0, allowing connection to up to three devices simultaneously. Featuring adjustable DPI settings and an ergonomic design, this mouse is suitable for professional, academic, and casual use.

Setup and Connectivity

1. Powering On and Off

Locate the ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the mouse. Slide it to the 'ON' position to power on the mouse and to 'OFF' when not in use to conserve battery.

2. Dual Connectivity Modes

The Toad II mouse offers two connection methods: 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.0. You can switch between these modes using the dedicated connectivity mode button on the bottom of the mouse.

3. 2.4 GHz Wireless Connection

1. Open the magnetic cover on the top of the mouse to access the USB nano dongle.
2. Remove the USB nano dongle from its storage slot.
3. Insert the USB nano dongle into an available USB port on your computer (laptop or PC).
4. Slide the connectivity mode button on the bottom of the mouse to the 2.4 GHz position (indicated by a red light). The mouse will automatically connect to your device.

4. Bluetooth Connection (Bluetooth 1 and Bluetooth 2)

1. Slide the connectivity mode button on the bottom of the mouse to either Bluetooth 1 (green light) or Bluetooth 2 (blue light) position.
2. On your device (laptop, MacBook, PC, tablet), go to Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
3. Search for available devices. The mouse will appear as "Toad II Plus" or similar.
4. Select the mouse to pair. Once paired, the corresponding Bluetooth indicator light on the mouse will remain solid.

Operating Instructions

1. Button Functions

The Portronics Toad II features a 5-button design for enhanced control:

• Left Click Button: Standard selection and activation.
• Right Click Button: Accesses contextual menus.
• Scroll Wheel: Scrolls vertically through documents and web pages. Can also be pressed for middle-click functionality.
• DPI Switch Button: Adjusts the mouse sensitivity (DPI).
• Connection Switch Button: Located on the bottom, this button switches between 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 1, and Bluetooth 2 modes.

2. DPI Adjustment

The mouse offers adjustable DPI (Dots Per Inch) settings, allowing you to change cursor sensitivity. Press the DPI switch button (located below the scroll wheel) to cycle through available DPI levels (e.g., 1200, 1600 DPI). This feature provides precise control for different tasks, from detailed graphic design to fast-paced gaming.

Maintenance

1. Charging the Mouse

The Portronics Toad II mouse is equipped with a rechargeable battery and a Type-C charging port. When the battery is low, connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the mouse and a USB power source. A full charge provides approximately 7 days of backup.

2. Cleaning

To clean the mouse, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the surface.

Troubleshooting

• Mouse not responding: Ensure the mouse is powered on and fully charged. Check the connection mode (2.4 GHz or Bluetooth) and ensure it matches your device's connection. For 2.4 GHz, ensure the USB dongle is securely inserted. For Bluetooth, re-pair the device if necessary.
• Intermittent connection: Ensure the mouse is within the 10-meter operating range. Avoid obstructions between the mouse and your device.
• Cursor movement is erratic: Clean the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse. Ensure you are using the mouse on a suitable surface. Adjust DPI settings if the cursor is too fast or too slow.
