- Align the Pinlock lens with the pins on the inside of the main visor.
- Press the edges of the Pinlock lens onto the pins, ensuring a tight seal around the entire perimeter.
- Reinstall the main visor onto the helmet.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Chin Guard Operation
The N100-5 features a dual-action chin bar opening system.
- To Open: Locate the two release buttons, typically one on each side of the chin bar. Simultaneously press both buttons and lift the chin guard upwards until it locks into the open position.
- To Close: Firmly pull the chin guard downwards until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is fully latched before riding.
5.2. VPS Sunscreen Operation
The internal VPS sunscreen can be deployed or retracted as needed.
- To Deploy: Use the lever located on the left side of the helmet to slide the sunscreen down.
- To Retract: Push the lever upwards, or use the easy access side lever for instant retraction in emergency situations.
5.3. Ventilation System (AirBooster)
Adjust the vents to control airflow within the helmet.
- Locate the top and chin vents.
- Slide the vent covers to open or close the air intakes as desired for optimal comfort.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will prolong the life and effectiveness of your helmet.
6.1. Cleaning the Outer Shell
- Use a soft cloth and mild soap with lukewarm water.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or petroleum-based products, as these can damage the shell's finish and integrity.
- Rinse thoroughly and air dry.
6.2. Cleaning the Visor and VPS Sunscreen
- Remove the visor and Pinlock lens (if applicable).
- Clean with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. Specialized helmet visor cleaners can also be used.
- Do not use harsh chemicals.
- For the Pinlock lens, only clean with a soft, damp cloth and air dry. Do not rub vigorously.
6.3. Cleaning the Inner Liner and Cheek Pads
- The Clima-Comfort inner liner and one-piece cheek pads are designed for simple removal and replacement.
- Hand wash with mild soap and cold water.
- Allow to air dry completely before reinstalling. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter.
- Visor Fogging: Ensure the Pinlock lens is correctly installed and sealed. Adjust ventilation to increase airflow.
- Chin Guard Not Latching: Ensure no obstructions are preventing the chin guard from fully closing. Apply firm, even pressure until it clicks into place. If issues persist, inspect the latching mechanism for damage.
- Helmet Feels Too Tight/Loose: Helmet fit is crucial for safety. If the helmet feels too tight or too loose, re-evaluate the sizing. Inner liners and cheek pads are available in different thicknesses to fine-tune the fit.
- Excessive Noise: Ensure all vents are closed if noise is an issue. Check that the visor and chin guard are fully closed and sealed.
