7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your N350RT router.
7.1 No Internet Access
- Check Cables: Ensure all Ethernet cables are securely connected to the correct ports (WAN to modem, LAN to devices).
- Modem Status: Verify that your modem is working correctly and has an active internet connection.
- WAN Settings: Log in to the router's web interface and check the WAN settings under Network > WAN Settings. Ensure the connection type (DHCP, Static IP, PPPoE) matches your ISP's requirements.
- Restart Devices: Power cycle your modem, then the router, and then your computer/device.
7.2 Cannot Access Web Management Interface
- IP Address: Ensure you are using the correct default IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).
- Network Connection: Verify your device is connected to the router either via Ethernet cable to a LAN port or wirelessly to the router's WiFi network.
- IP Settings: Ensure your computer's network adapter is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
- Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer that might be blocking access.
- Factory Reset: If all else fails, perform a factory reset (see Section 6.3) to revert to default settings, then try accessing the interface again.
7.3 Slow Wireless Speed
- Signal Strength: Ensure your device is within good range of the router. Obstacles like walls and floors can degrade signal.
- Channel Interference: Log in to the web interface, go to Wireless > Advanced Settings, and try changing the wireless channel to a less congested one (e.g., 1, 6, or 11).
- Firmware: Ensure your router has the latest firmware installed (see Section 6.1).
- Device Compatibility: Ensure your wireless client device supports 802.11n for optimal 2.4 GHz performance.
- Number of Devices: Too many devices actively using the network can reduce overall speed.
