7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Tupavco TP1940 switch, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips:
- No Power:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the switch and a working electrical outlet.
- Check if the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
- No Link/Activity on a Port:
- Verify that the Ethernet cable is securely plugged into both the switch port and the connected device.
- Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out a faulty cable.
- Ensure the connected device is powered on and its network adapter is functioning correctly.
- Check the LED indicators (refer to Section 6) to diagnose the link status.
- Slow Network Speed:
- Ensure your connected devices and cables (CAT5E, CAT6, or CAT6A) support 2.5 Gigabit speeds.
- Check the port LED indicators to confirm the negotiated speed.
- Minimize network congestion by reducing the number of active high-bandwidth applications.
- Intermittent Connection:
- Ensure all cable connections are tight and secure.
- Avoid placing the switch near sources of strong electromagnetic interference.
- Consider restarting the switch and connected devices.
