5. Operating Instructions

The Element Fire Extinguisher is a manual deployment device. In the event of a fire, follow these general steps:

  1. Assess the Fire: Ensure the fire is small and contained, and that you can safely extinguish it without putting yourself or others at risk.
  2. Retrieve the Extinguisher: Quickly remove the Element extinguisher from its tactical mount.
  3. Activate: Remove the yellow cap from the end of the extinguisher.
  4. Aim and Sweep: Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire. Sweep the extinguishing agent across the fire until it is out.
  5. Monitor: After the fire is out, continue to monitor the area for re-ignition.

Note:

  • The Element extinguisher uses a non-pressurized, non-toxic, and non-corrosive extinguishing agent.
  • It is designed for single-use. Once activated, the entire contents should be discharged.

6. Maintenance

The Element Fire Extinguisher and its tactical mounting kit require minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure readiness:

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the extinguisher for any visible damage, such as cracks, dents, or signs of tampering. Check the tactical sleeve and straps for wear and tear.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the extinguisher and mount clean and free of dirt or debris. Wipe with a damp cloth if necessary.
  • Storage: Store the kit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Shelf Life: Element extinguishers boast a 100+ year shelf life, requiring no maintenance or recharging.

7. Troubleshooting

Given the simple nature of the Element Fire Extinguisher and its tactical mount, troubleshooting is generally limited to proper installation and storage.

  • Extinguisher Not Secure in Mount: Ensure the extinguisher is fully inserted into the sleeve. Adjust the straps to be taut and properly secured around the mounting surface. The Velcro on the straps and sleeve should be fully engaged.
  • Mount Slipping: Re-tighten the straps. For smooth surfaces, consider adding a non-slip material between the mount and the surface if slippage persists. Ensure the mounting location is appropriate for the weight and movement of the extinguisher.
  • Extinguisher Appears Damaged: If the extinguisher itself shows signs of significant physical damage (e.g., severe dents, cracks), do not attempt to use it. Contact Element customer support for guidance.
