5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Replacement
The outdoor sensor array requires 3 AA batteries for operation. While the integrated solar panel extends battery life, it is recommended to check and replace batteries periodically, especially before winter months or if low battery indicators appear on the display console.
5.2. Cleaning
Regularly inspect and clean the outdoor sensor array to ensure optimal performance. Pay particular attention to:
- Rain Collector: Clear any debris (leaves, insects) from the rain collector funnel to prevent blockages and ensure accurate rainfall measurements.
- Wind Vane & Anemometer: Ensure these components spin freely without obstruction. Gently clean any dirt or dust accumulation.
- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean from dirt or grime to maximize its charging efficiency.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your weather station, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Sensor Data: Ensure the outdoor sensor has fresh batteries and is within the wireless range (up to 492 feet) of the display console. Check for any large obstructions between the units.
- Inaccurate Readings: Verify the outdoor sensor is mounted in an unobstructed location, away from direct heat sources or reflective surfaces. Ensure it is level for accurate rain collection.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Check your home Wi-Fi network status. Ensure the display console is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Restarting both the console and your router may resolve temporary connection problems.
- Display Not Responding: Try unplugging the display console's power adapter, waiting a few seconds, and then plugging it back in.
