Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and descaling are crucial for maintaining the performance and ice quality of your GE Profile Opal ice maker.

1. Cleaning Frequency

For optimal use, clean your Opal ice maker once per week. This helps to sanitize the unit and prevent the buildup of impurities that can affect ice taste.

2. Descaling

Descale your Opal ice maker every 2-3 weeks, or more frequently if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water can significantly impact the ice maker's performance and lead to mineral deposits. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for ice makers (e.g., Opal Cleaning Solution, P4INKCLEAN).
