Product Overview

The SEMIER Cassette Player Recorder (Model: JKHG-JGKL-0108) is a versatile audio device designed for playing cassette tapes, listening to AM/FM radio, and converting audio to digital formats. It features a compact design, multiple power options, and intuitive controls for ease of use.

Setup

Powering the Device

The SEMIER Cassette Player Recorder can be powered by either an AC adapter or 4 AA batteries.

Using AC Power:

1. Locate the DC 6V input jack on the side of the unit.
2. Plug the included AC adapter into the DC 6V input jack.
3. Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet.

Using Batteries:

1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the unit.
2. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Operating Instructions

Cassette Playback

1. Set the Function Switch (USB/SD | RADIO | TAPE/OFF) to the TAPE/OFF position.
2. Press the EJECT button to open the cassette door.
3. Insert a cassette tape into the cassette tray.
4. Close the cassette door firmly.
5. Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
6. Adjust the volume using the VOL knob on the side.
7. To stop playback, press the STOP button.
8. Use F.FW (Fast Forward) and F.REW (Fast Rewind) buttons to navigate the tape.

Note: The unit features auto-stop at the end of the tape.

AM/FM Radio Operation

1. Set the Function Switch (USB/SD | RADIO | TAPE/OFF) to the RADIO position.
2. Choose the band (AM or FM) using the AM/FM switch.
3. Extend the telescopic antenna for FM reception. For AM reception, rotate the unit to find the best signal.
4. Rotate the TUNE SD/U knob on the side to find your desired radio station.
5. Adjust the volume using the VOL knob.

Cassette to Digital Conversion (MP3)

This device allows you to convert audio from cassette tapes to MP3 files on a USB flash drive or Micro SD card.

Steps for Conversion:

1. Insert a cassette tape into the unit (refer to Cassette Playback section).
2. Insert a USB Flash Drive or Micro SD Card into the corresponding slot on the side of the unit.
3. Set the Function Switch (USB/SD | RADIO | TAPE/OFF) to the USB/SD position.
4. Press the PLAY button on the cassette player.
5. Long press the REC (Record) button on the front panel until the red light illuminates. This indicates recording has started.
6. The audio from the cassette will now be converted and saved as an MP3 file on your inserted USB drive or Micro SD card.
7. To stop recording, press the STOP button.

MP3 Playback (USB/Micro SD)

The unit can play MP3 files directly from a USB flash drive or Micro SD card.

1. Insert a USB Flash Drive or Micro SD Card containing MP3 files into the corresponding slot.
2. Set the Function Switch (USB/SD | RADIO | TAPE/OFF) to the USB/SD position.
3. The unit will automatically begin playing MP3 files.
4. Use the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause or resume playback.
5. Use the PRE (Previous) and NEXT buttons to skip between tracks.
6. Adjust the volume using the VOL knob.

Recording to Tape (from Radio/Microphone)

You can record directly onto a cassette tape from the AM/FM radio or using the built-in microphone.

1. Insert a blank cassette tape into the unit.
2. Set the Function Switch (USB/SD | RADIO | TAPE/OFF) to the RADIO position for radio recording, or ensure it's in TAPE/OFF for microphone recording.
3. Press the REC (Record) button. Both PLAY and REC buttons will engage.
4. The unit will now record the current radio broadcast or audio picked up by the built-in microphone onto the cassette tape.
5. To stop recording, press the STOP button.

Maintenance

General Care

• Keep the unit dry and away from moisture.
• Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures.
• Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries to prevent leakage.

Cassette Mechanism Care

• Periodically clean the tape heads, capstan, and pinch roller using a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. This helps maintain sound quality and prevents tape damage.
• Avoid touching the tape heads with bare hands.
