3. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully to ensure proper and secure installation of your Snailfly Roof Rack Cross Bars.
3.1 Identify Front and Rear Bars
The front cross bar is longer than the rear cross bar. Identify them before proceeding. The bars are also designed with a round head facing the front of the vehicle and a pointy head facing the rear for optimal aerodynamics.

3.2 Assemble Cross Bars
- Attach the four bases to the middle bars. Insert the screws but do not tighten them completely at this stage. This allows for adjustment.
- Ensure the sponge pads are attached to the base feet to protect your vehicle's roof rails.
- The length of the cross bars can be adjusted by sliding the bases along the bar. Adjust the length to fit your vehicle's roof rails.

3.3 Mount Cross Bars to Vehicle
- Carefully place the assembled front cross bar onto the front section of your vehicle's roof rails.
- Align the mounting holes on the cross bar bases with the designated attachment points on your vehicle's roof rails.
- Insert the provided bolts through the cross bar bases and into the roof rails. Hand-tighten initially.
- Repeat steps 4-6 for the rear cross bar.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will prolong the life and ensure the safe operation of your Snailfly Roof Rack Cross Bars.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all mounting bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Retighten if necessary.
- Cleaning: Clean the cross bars with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Seasonal Care: If not in use for extended periods, consider removing the cross bars to minimize wear and tear, especially in harsh weather conditions.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Snailfly Roof Rack Cross Bars, please refer to the following common solutions:
- Excessive Wind Noise: Ensure all components are securely tightened. The aerodynamic design minimizes noise, but loose parts can increase it. Verify correct front/rear bar orientation.
- Loose Fit: Recheck all mounting bolts and ensure they are tightened to the recommended specifications. Confirm that the adjustable length of the bases is correctly set for your vehicle's roof rails.
- Sunroof Obstruction: Double-check that the cross bars are installed in the correct positions and that no part is interfering with the sunroof's path.
